Tim was very courteous and patient and took the time to show and explain things to me. Being a new homeowner and buying an older home he gave me tips and things to be on alert for as well as recommendations. The furnace and hot water heater had not been serviced in over 10 years and he worked as quickly and efficiently as possible to not break the bank on this single mom. Gas Doctor is the only company I would consider using. Thanks Tim and Gas Doctor for the tremendous service!

The last thing I wanted to do on my birthday was deal with a costly time consuming repair. I called the Gas Dr because I was referred to them by a relative who spoke very highly of their technicians and customer service reps. They were quick to show up and got right to work I was pleased to see how professional and knowledgeable they were since I have had bad experiences with other companies in the past. Normally I don’t take the time to post reviews but their outstanding service and care deserves recognition. Although I hope I don’t run into anymore issues in the future, I know if I do I will be calling The Gas Dr. Highly recommend

Wow...I was going to call The Gas Doctor but after reading this I will find someone else with a good reputation. I fix most things myself but at times it is beyond me. I don't need someone who knows less than me. A BIG THANK YOU to all of you who posted your experiences, maybe if more people did this it would put a end to all the people who take advantage of people who are at the mercy of companies like this. No wonder why it is a LLC corporation, if because of their screw up your house blows up, you can't go after them personally.

I'm a female who lives alone, and found my water heater that THEY INSTALLED, leaking at 10:30 at night. Apparently their 24/7 promised service is subjective. Donna returned my call only to then let me know that the repairman would be happy to stay in bed due to my 'attitude' relating to my concern of my ceiling caving in!! Lovely customer service you have Donna!! Have fun ripping off the remainder of your clientele. What a joke this company is.

Gas Doctor replaced heating control board on our Church's parsonage. The company charged $655 for the part and $179 for the labor. We investigated the price of the board and it is $279 at Smithfield Plumbing and Heating Supplies. The owner said he always charges 100% markup of the part. The question is why? He charges the labor and he is not an authorized dealer or supplier. Why does he make $376 from the part? Because he picked it up from the supplier? This is ridiculous and unethical. . He never disclosed that he would charge $379 on $279 part.

I paid over $1000 for a heater repair in November. When an inspector found a problem with the unit in June, Gas Doctor said they would charge $119 to even come and look at the unit. The work is only guaranteed for 30 days, and apparently they don't care how long it holds up after that. NOT recommended.

I am usually not the type of person to sign up and submit a review but after reading cooper99's comments I felt obligated to set the record straight. I have been a customer of the Gas Doctor since I moved to Rhode Island some time ago. I have had many dealings with this company and can honestly say this is a company you can trust. They are a mom & pop, family run business that truly care about your well being and bring professionalism to everything they do. I have dealt with a few different technicians from the Gas Doctor and have had an opportunity to meet both of the owners. The price has always been more than fair and I never felt like I was taken advantage of. The owner himself had even stopped by to asnwer questions I had about my new system and performed a checkup on one occasion without even charging me a dime. My recommendation is to not stay away, the Gas Doctor is a good business and I hope others will step up and share their good dealings as the real truth needs to be told.

not a reputable company. they tried to charge me 1500 bucks for a job that later only cost me 125 dollars. they also charged me 200 dollars for an estimate. they tried to charge me for things that i didnt need. i feel bad for the little old lady whos pilot goes out on he boiler and calls the gas doctor.stay away
