First off I had a 11am appointment. I showed up at 10:45am only to find out that everyone they see for the day is given an 11am appointment. I was not given any paperwork to fill out until 12:30 and not seen by a so called counselor until 1:30pm. Everyone is told that counseling is recommended. They tell you that you must attend a 26 week program at $35 a visit. You are told that if you do not show they will notify the court and your probation officer. I recommend that before going to ant counseling to check with your attorney first. In my case I was only court ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation. Of which Fifth Street refused to provide me with a copy of their findings, I was told that I could request a copy from the court and that Fifth Street will not provide me with a copy. My attorney advised me not to attend any classes as this could be an admission of guilt and that I would only need to go to counseling upon a judges review of my assessment in which if I were told I need counseling he will request an assessment from a real professional and not a dishonest mill type place. Never met with any type of doctor or person that was in any way qualified to tell me that I had any kind of problem. I is a shame that companies like this can profit from the legal system in trying to intimidate you by saying if you do not show we will notify your parole.
