EXTREMELY OVERPRICED!! I calle...

EXTREMELY OVERPRICED!! I called to get an estimate and the time frame window to arrive was 2 hours. He calls and says he will be at my home in one hour.. 2 hours later he finally arrives which is past the time frame he was supposed to arrive. We thought that's ok it happens but then he sees a flooring sample on our counter (someone we already decided not to use and were waiting to return the sample later that day) and he immediately goes into attack mode on the other company 'their flooring is not warranted, their flooring is not durable, their flooring blah blah blah'. I do not find it good business to have to bash everyone else to make yourself look better if your product is good it speaks for itself and you do not have to down talk others. For a simple engineered hardwood flooring install of 500 square feet total mind you he gives a quote of almost $10,000! But then pulls the 'if you sign a contract today I will give you a discount to $6700 total' and give us free install - still that's pretty high considering the other 5 places we shopped pricing at for the Same engineered hardwood flooring in the same color range gave us a total install quote of around $3000. When we mention the quote is much higher than anyone else and we would like a breakdown of exactly why it was so expensive he couldn't give us one he wrote a bunch of numbers out and gave vague answers but never told us exactly what was being charged for us (we never even got pricing on how much a sq. foot he was charging for the flooring) he did mention almost $2300 of the quote was the install pricing (really? I thought you said install was free?). Typical salesman bull he couldn't give us any reason why their product was better.. when asked why the flooring had pretty big spacing between the locking panels his excuse was that it was designed that way so dirt would fall between the panels and not stay on the flooring (what?). In our opinion they really just couldn't give truthful answers it was just a bunch of vague excuses.
