I hired this company through a site online called Thumbtack, where people go and ask for help on a job they need done. I read good reviews on this company and the man seemed very nice and was the lowest bid. The job was for bamboo removal. It had been in my mother's yard for years under control until she passed away and we put the house up for sale.

This spring after she passed it popped up everywhere in the back yard so I started reading about it online and knew it was going to be a hard job. The owner gave me the bid and I agreed, and he knew I was concerned about the job because bamboo is very invasive and hard to get rid of. He kept telling me not to worry and that he would get it all and it wouldn't come back. So when he finished I asked him if he would put in writing, on the receipt, that he would comeback if the bamboo returned and he said yes and wrote it. A week later it started popping up all over again and I called him and he told me how busy he was but maybe next week. He also said he wanted to do research on what chemical he could use that might work better. Well one week turned into a month and a half and my husband and I were going out there every week cutting and spraying it. We called Ivan the owner often, getting more excuses, and finally he stopped answering.

I called the company I found him through to get help and they tried to get him to do the right thing but he did the same to them, as in making excuses and not doing what he said he would do. So they banned him from the site.

Once he found out he was banned he called my husband and made a threat saying " You really did it now man, I have something for you now. You don't want me coming near that house now". Then he hung up. My husband called back and told him he took that as a threat. My husband told them no one was allowed on that property without us around and that we were now going to make a police report incase he did anything else.

He also had a guy working with him on this job that was trying to help be a go between, but the odd thing is, as much as he tried to help, he never did what he said either. His company was called "Godly Way Complete Outdoor Services" . He asked me if I would take money to stop this and I said yes. I said a third of the job wasn't done so I would take 250.00 and he said that seemed fair. Then he asked me if I would allow his crew to finish the job in order to keep E and E Tree Service in good standing everywhere. I told him I didn't want to let E and E off the hook but let me think about it while I went to the doctor and I would call back. End of the day came and I called and left a message and then a text and he never called me so I am done. Now I am also working with the Better Business Bureau and they will be talking to him. I told them work was not a option now since the threat but I would still take the money. I know I won't see the money but at least it will put him in bad standing with the BBB and anywhere else I can find him, I will share my story. This man told me everything he could to get the job, but honestly he knew nothing about bamboo.

Beware... this man screamed that threat to my husband and now I am afraid, wondering if he will do something. He blames everything on the everyone and takes no accountability. Told my husband "man I worked my a** off" my husband replied "you made the bid, not me and you signed that receipt willingly". His friend with Godly services told me he also told Ivan that he was in over his head and needed to find out what he was getting into before bidding on a job.

I hope this review help keep someone else from going through what I did.
