The owner has been around construction most of his life. In 1981 established Cornish Homes and Construction. A construction company that specilized in rehab construction. In 1993, he shut-down the construction company, and established Cornish Home Inspections, Inc. To be honest, it's much easier to manage a home inspection company than a construction company. The building inspector (owner), has had hands on experience on most repairs and corrections that are found during the building/home inspection.

I am a repeat customer of Cornish Home Inspections. Two of my homes were inspected by Jim. He is in my opinion the best and most knowledgeable home inspector I have ever dealt with. Other inspectors will do the minimum required of an inspector, but not Jim. He includes you in the process and makes sure you understand the issues and items he finds. Bring your questions about your furnace or water heater, because Jim has the answers. He gives you tips on how to make you house systems run better and last longer. The report he gave me I used for over a year after the inspection was completed. What a resource the report is when you are a home owner.

As the owner of a property management company we buy a lot of real estate and have used many inspection companies over the years. Jim has been by far the most professional and thorough person we have ever worked with.

He has many times found structural issues that my guys overlooked that would have cost me much more than the house was worth to repair.

Thank you Jim!!!

Jim Cornish has done several home inspections for me over the years. The most recent was on an condo we purchased in Southwestern Michigan. He was very thorough, actually found some additional issues that the association needed to know about. He was very organized and with a prompt report. He advised us regarding things to ask for at the closing, like the warrantee papers for windows, etc.. I highly recommend him - a man of integrity that provides exceptional service!
