I was referred by a friend after having issues with my shiba I got from the shelter. I called Max and he came out and showed us some things to try and within a week of following his tips, my shiba was a whole new dog. Calling him was the BEST decision I ever made! Thank you!

I contacted Max to come work with my 3 year old very rammy and energetic female chocolate lab. He visited us in April 2010. I told Max specifically what behavioral issues/concerns I had with my dog and Max explained to my boyfriend and I how a dog thinks which is very different than humans. I learned lots of new and valuable information from Max. He also showed us step by step how to correct her bad behaviors. He gave us hand outs to review and use as guides as we would work with our dog in the coming days/weeks. His explanations on why dogs think/behave a certain way made perfect sense to me. At no time did I think "wow, this guy is way off or he is abusive to my dog" I can't imagine he would be one way to us and my dog and "abusive" with another. My boyfriend was not a fan so to speak of contacting a dog trainer but also agreed that what Max said and showed us made him understand our dogs behavior better. The changes in our dog were immediate. You could tell our dog knew that Max knew what he was doing and he wasn't intimidated by her stubborness in any way, shape, or form. Her body language changed and she immediately calmed down and was a different dog. When Max first entered my home the vibes I immediately felt from him were that he has a natural gift to work with dogs and he knows what he is talking about. He was confident and calm which my dog sensed. My dog immediately was like "oh - this guy isn't going to put up with my nonsense". The only thing I would maybe like to see different is that Max would work with the owners & dog maybe 1 hr but have the training more than once because I am not as confident with my dog as Max is with dogs. I would even be willing to pay a little more but I would still recommend Alpha Dog Obedience Training to anyone.

In March, 2010 very soon after adopting a fear aggressive German Shepherd, we realized we needed an expert in dog training and behavioral issues, so we called Alpha Dog - best decision we could have made. Max immediately identified the underlying issues that caused our new companion’s outrageous behavior and after working with her (and us!) for only a couple short hours, the changes in our dog were readily apparent. After daily application of his positive training techniques and one subsequent training session, our dog has transformed into an obedient, well-balanced, happy dog. Max possesses an amazing natural gift! He is patient and kind to both canines and humans! He is professional, extremely knowledgeable and has made himself available for my many follow-up questions. I would recommend Alpha Dog to ANY dog owner, but especially to those seeking assistance with special issues or any new dog owners who desire to learn basic handling, positive correction and appropriate training techniques.

We had Max over to work with one of our dogs. He gave some great tips on training her. I would recommend him to anyone in need of a dog trainer.

Alpha Dog Obedience Training in Mechanicsburg is truly awful. We had Max come out to work with our dog and ended up spending $100s of dollars again later on other trainers to undo the damage he did. At some point during the "training", he had my 70-lb dog hanging from his leash - all 4 paws off the ground.



No thank you. Avoid this guy like the plague.
