These guys use a "flat rate" fee structure. I had them come over to free an air-blocked radiator that didn't have a vent on it. Using their rigid flat rate structure they wanted to charge me almost $800 to do the job. I paid their diagnostic fee and went with someone else. The other company I went with found a solution that didn't require the elaborate work that 20/20 wanted to do. In the end the repair cost about 1/5 of what 20/20 wanted to charge. 20/20's model obviously depends on people not questioning their estimates - they figure they can rope in some suckers and make a good buck off them.



As a final note, when I called their office to complain that I hadn't been told about the flat rate structure, the office manager was unapologetic and told me that I had "wasted her time". On the contrary - it's the other way around.
