Charged me for a service I didn't ask for, didn't receive, and wasn't informed in advance I might be receiving. They did not bother to get my consent first.



Stopped by for my annual eye examination. When asked if my insurance company would cover the visit in full, the receptionist answered "yes". At the end of the visit, she changes her story and tells me that I owe $40 for a contact lens fit that I did not ask for, did not receive, and was not informed in advance that I might even be liable for.



I filed a formal complaint with the bureau for better business and am taking Natick Eye Associates to small claims court if need be, not because of the trivial amount of money involved, but to ensure they don't try to squeeze extra money from more unsuspecting customers.



The reason they gave me for adding the extra fee? That customers every year must get a contact lens fit in order to buy contact lenses! But do customers not have the right to choose who to get the contact lens fit from? Do I not have the right to receive *only those services I explicitly asked for*?



I resent being treated as property. Natick Eye Associates does not have the right to assume that I will give them my business for the contact lens fit. They do not have the right to force a hidden service and fee down my throat simply because I happened to walk into their office.
