Excellent service!

We were a group of 10 people in 3 separate vehicles from out of state headed to a Florida vacation and one of our cars broke down while driving through Louisiana at 2am. We were able to leave our vehicle with boyett's so we could continue onto our vacation and have the vehicle repaired and picked it up on our way back through when going home. Excellent service, would highly recommend to anyone.

Horrible, stay away!

First off, let me lay a little background for you. I am a college graduate and while I know how to do the basics of care mantanence (change oil, sparkplugs, flat tires etc) I do not know everything to know about cars so when my 2000 Pontiac Grand Am started misfiring ( and kept doing so after I changed my sparkplugs) I knew that it was out of my league so I took it to Boyette's Auto Repair. I was told that I would be kept up to speed on eveything and that no part would be put on my car without my permission first. So I took my car in on a Monday and the owner, Larry, told me he was one mechanic down and it would be Tuesday before he got the chance to take a look at it, but when I called on Tuesday, he said he had not had the time to look at it. I called again on Wednesday and he said he was still trying to diagnosis the problem, the same was true when I called on Thursday. When I called on Friday morning, I was told by his wife that he was test driving my car and that he would give me a call whenever he got back. About 2 hours later I get a call from Larry saying he had figured what it was and he had to replace a bunch of new parts on my car (including the sparkplugs I had changed the day before I took my car to his shop) and that my total bill was $568. He told me Incould come pick my car up and he would give me a break down of what he did on my car and how much the parts cost. Thinking that my sparkplugs should have been fine and that there was no need to replace them, I headed to his shop. When I get there I speak with Larry's wife. I told her that I was not trying to be rude, but that I wanted to see a break down of cost, that I had no problem paying the money, but I wanted to see the breakdown, as well as my old sparkplugs. When I told her this, she got very upset and refused to show me the breakdown. I told her that I was confused beacuse the main reason that I chose their shop was that they said that I would be notified if my car needed a part and that it wouldn't be put on my car until I gave permission. She then proceeded to call me stupid and said I knew nothing about cars and that I didn't know what I was talking about and that I just needed to shut up. By this time, Larry has come into the office because he heard her yelling at me, and when he came in I told him to take the parts off my car, that I'd pay him for the labor, but if I wasn't going to be shown where my money was going, then I didn't want the parts. He told me it would be just a mooment because he had to move some vehicles around and I told him I wanted to watch him take the parts off my car and while he was moving vehicles around I was going to make a phone call. So I called my mom and told her what was going on, and by the time I got off the phone with my mom (10 mintues tops) he had taken the parts off my car. When I tried to pay him for the labor, he told me to get in my car and never come back. And believe me I won't. The mechanics at Boyette's Auto Repair are rude and will rob you blind if you let them. I would not recommend this mechanic shop to anyone and have since filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
