The Palm Restaurant is one of the oldest, family-owned, white tablecloth restaurants in the United States. Original started as a New York City steakhouse in 1926, it has since grown into a restaurant chain of over 25 restaurants. The name, Palm, originated when the proprietors obtained a business license. They wanted to call it Parma, but because of their Italian accents, it translated into Palm. The restaurant specializes in Italian cuisine and offers specialties, such as chicken scallopine, veal martini, pork chop malfata and linguini. Apart from Italian cuisine, the restaurant also serves a variety of steaks and seafood dishes. It runs a wholesale meat company to cater to the customer s demand for steaks. It also sells nearly 25,000 pounds of lobster per week. The restaurant operates the 837 Club and provides special club points, benefits and offers to its members. Additionally, it offers gift certificates and cookbooks. The Palm Restaurant provides a venue for private parties, including bridal showers, rehearsal dinners, get-togethers and corporate business events. It features private boardrooms and large private dining rooms and also provides amenities, such as fax machines, conference call equipment, telephones and overhead projectors. Its staff assists customers in the selection of menu and decoration. The Palm Restaurant maintains a location in Nashville, Tenn.

It was ok...I was there with a group of 15people and they only provided 2 servers. It took an hour for them to bring the salad. The decor is a little confusing to me.

Valentine Day Hell

My experience on Valentine day was very unpleasant at The Palm.

First- Table for two was a table in an dark corner where there is normally not a table. A metal fold up table is our quaint table for two, that consist of blue chairs that appeared to borrowed from someone, the chairs did not match any of the other nice wooden chairs and uncomfortable to boot. This tables circumfirence was not large enough for the amount of plates that were brought for our meal, the bread had to be taken away in order to provide sufficient room for the meals.

Second- the food choices were slim, I understand it was a Valentine menu, but the menu was to scaled down. When the food did arrive, broccoli was cold and hard as is it had been sitting to long. The Loster tail was cold, prepared way ahead of time obviiously. The baked potato was warm and hard spots throughout. The filet was excellent, thankfully.

Lastly- The server was not well versed on the provided menu. He was unable to describe the meals as well as the options for exchange. He was not aware they had baked potatos.

Now I have been to The Palm multiple occasions and have had nice experiences there. This by far was an obvious attempt for them to maximize their profits at a risk of unpleasant experiences for clients. Tables were being put in places that were not equipped to handle, in order for them to again maximize profits. I plan to give these details to the manager as well as all of my contacts.

Thank you Palm for opening my eyes to a very expensive lesson.
