NOT PET FRIENDLY!!! Last time I was there the owner was present and it was a nice experience. I bought things for a dog and had the dog with me. This time it was the opposite. HORRIBLE! One star is a gift. The store was filthy dark and smelled truly horrible. I brought my dog with me and was made very unwelcome by the rude staff who pointed out that the numerous cats in the shop were street cats and "had bad experiences with dogs" making a huge point of my well behaved and immaculately groomed dog being in their store. My dog was not even taking note of the cats. The filthy poorly cared for cats are more important than customers. She kept squirting something on the floor to make a point that we were very unwelcome. Everything was covered with cat hair and shed skin from the cats and I would never consider exposing my well cared for pet to that filth on a "new" item. I left there with a first ever histamine reaction to the poorly cared for cats and the filthy store.

DO NOT GO HERE! My friend ad...

DO NOT GO HERE!

My friend adopted two kittens from The Cat Shoppe. After adopting them found out they had fleas and worms. She footed the bill and made sure to take care of them but also made sure to call The Cat Shoppe to inform them of this so they could check the other cats and the owner sounded like she could care less.

Also, they make house calls on you to check on the cats! Seven months after adopting them, one of the employees called her to ask if she could come see one of the cats because she had fostered them and wasn't there to say goodbye when they were adopted. Said it was not a house call or inspection. The lady then came into her home and basically told my friend she was raising the cats completely wrong saying the food she was feeding them was bad and even went so far as to say the new name for one of her cats was a stupid name.

After the lady found out the kittens had been declawed she became very very angry and my friend was scared for her and her cats. Last week she got a letter demanding $1000 ($500 per cat) in damages to the Cat Shoppe because she declawed the cats.

This has taught me never to go to an adoption center like this, and to never let anybody in my house from a place I adopt them from.

Great Place and Prices on Top Shelf Foods

Much better prices than popular pet chains and some other mom & pop places on top shelf foods like innova, wellness, chicken soup, and others!

My boyfriend always comes with me to buy cat and dog food so he can play with all the little kittens they have up for adoption.

Dissatisfied customer

I visited the store after finding out about it on the internet. I decided to take a trip to the store to check it out, since I live not far away. When I went there, I was surprised by the cold treatment that greeted me. I was expecting that, being that it is a store that loves pets, I would be treated with welcome and warmth, but this was not the case. Instead, I left the store feeling extremely uncomfortable and feeling as though I was a bad person and not good enough to even adopt one of the cats that I showed interest in. I was even deterred from adopting the cat with a whole bunch of nonsensical excuses. I left out of the store being happy to have seen the cats and have to say that they are the best part of the entire store. They are warm and adorable. Those who run the store, however, are not as kind. I have no idea if I will ever visit that place again. It just didn't feel right, not right at all.

The best decision I ever made!

The Cat Shoppe, in the Green Hills area of Nasvhille, TN, is one of the most unique pet store experiences for cat lovers. It has everything from food and toys to unique gifts. The owner has helped many cat owners over the years and turned me into a cat lover, by providing me with two marvelous cats 18 years ago. Check out this store in Nashville. If you have tried the BIG stores around the town, then try the Cat Shoppe's personal approach. You will find the experience wonderful and be surrounded by loving cats that roam, nap and play around you while you shoppe.
