A recovery coach is a professional sober life coach. This is someone who guides and supports a person in recovery from addiction and helps prevent relapses. Did you know that up to 65 percent of people in the first year of recovery will relapse at least once? Those are daunting odds. The goal of a recovery coach is to be actively involved in the life of a recovering addict in order to prevent relapse. Many millions of people have recovered from addiction to substances like alcohol, narcotics and various "street drugs". At Sober Recovery Journey our mission is to carry a message of hope and to provide any and all resources available to those seeking sobriety. Answers to many questions about addiction issues, peer support group information and professional treatment options are available. If you're afraid, confused and in pain and don't know where to turn, reach out to us for a risk-free, no-obligation consultation by phone, email or in-person. This is not all about "business" for us, it's about spreading the joy and miracle of a new life in recovery. The services and support provided by people like Recovery Coaches and A&D Counselors are designed to help the struggling alcoholic and drug addict who wants to stay clean and sober. Some clients are unable or unwilling to participate in a twelve step recovery program like Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous. The support of a coach or counselor brings answers and strategic plans for these clients and can help them eliminate obstacles that stand in the way of a new beginning. Recovery coaches help people with active addictions as well as persons already in recovery with some "clean time". Recovery coaches are helpful for making decisions about what to do with your life and the discovery of how your addiction and recovery plays a big part in it. Recovery coaches help clients find ways to stop active drinking or using (achieve abstinence), and reduce harm associated with addictive behaviors. Recovery coaches can help a client find resources for harm reduction, detox, treatment, family support, recovery education and local or online support groups for traveling clients. Recovery Coaches help a client create a change plan to maintain recovery for the long-term. Recovery coaches do not offer primary treatment for addiction, do not diagnose, and are not associated with any particular method or means of recovery. Recovery coaches support any positive change, helping persons coming home from treatment to avoid relapse, construct a safe and healthy recovery routine, build community support for recovery, or work on life goals not directly related to addiction such as healthy relationships, career work, school and education goals, etc. Recovery coaching is action oriented with an emphasis on improving life now and planning for safe and healthy goals in the future. Recovery coaching is unlike most therapy because coaches do not address the past and do not work to heal trauma. TESTIMONIALS: “Having a knowledgable recovery coach in my life is a real gift. I am grateful for the opportunity to reap the benefits of his wisdom and experience. Having my coach in addition to therapy and my 12 step program gives me the extra support I need on my journey to a new life in sobriety.” -Heather S., Franklin, TN “As I take time and think back about these months that have passed, I really feel so grateful to you. I am not just saying this to say it, I really mean it. I don’t know that Mark and I would have made it through if it weren’t for you. You have such a gentle and understanding way about you and any time I was on the ledge you always made me feel better and hopeful. I appreciate your honesty, your demeanor, and your experience. I am jus

Location
The Sober Recovery Journey offices are located in West Nashville, Tennessee. We work privately, one-on-one, with clients from the Metro Nashville area and throughout middle Tennessee.
Amenities
During the "Level I" phase of our recovery program, clients may begin with one, and as many as seven, one-on-one coaching sessions during the first few weeks of their personally tailored coaching plan. Our experience tells us that no two addicted individuals have the same needs. For example, older adult women face different challenges in their addiction patterns than young women and college students. Professionals, both male and female, present drinking and using patterns which may require a different approach to recovery coaching than younger men and other male clients.
Associations
The founder and lead coach for Sober Recovery Journey is an addiction professional with over 21 years of experience in addiction recovery, hundreds of hours of accredited classroom theory and several recognized certifications. Our commiitment to clients comes first from a place of service to others. We offer a working solution to the pain and misery of addiction by providing private, confidential, and professional coaching sessions in a safe and therapeutic atmosphere.
