We bought a “tall n’ skinny” over in East Nashville. With a home like that, our backyard options were extremely limited. We have a very small backyard, and because the houses are so close together, the yard gets very little sunlight.

That made for a big challenge when trying to grow anything. Furthermore, every time it rained, the backyard became a muddy mess. Also, we have dogs, and children, so that muddy OUTDOOR mess became a muddy INDOOR mess very quickly.

We hired Smart Scapes LLC to design and install a French drain, and to cover it with synthetic turf. We are SO thankful that David and Rhianne over at Smart Scapes were able to troubleshoot our backyard.

We came to them with a problem, and they presented us with a solution. Boom. Done. Never using a different landscape contractor in Nashville again. We’re Smart Scapes customers for life, and we highly recommend them if your backyard is causing you problems.

My wife and I moved into Nashville from the Tennessee countryside. Working with horses, cattle, and other livestock, we know a thing or two about how fast an outdoor space can become a muddy mess, especially during the rainy season.

We moved into town and bought a tall n’ skinny home in west Nashville. The yard space between us and our neighbor was NOT designed well for drainage. Every time it rained, we had a muddy mess, which is exactly what we were trying to get away from. Also, thanks to the size of the space and the position of the lot, our yard got almost no sun, hence nothing would grow.

Smart Scapes LLC came in and solved multiple problems at once. They installed a paver patio, walkway, and outdoor kitchenette. They put down artificial turf (SO easy to maintain). They hand-selected multiple plantings and flowers that do well in shaded areas. They installed drainage solutions below the patio, walkway, synthetic turf, and garden area. Now we have an outdoor space we can use!

Fantastic company. Not the first time I've used them. Probably won't be the last. This time I had them install synthetic turf in my backyard. Really turned out great. I was hesitant to use synthetic turf but I didn't know what to do as my backyard was losing all the natural grass due to too much shade. David over at Smart Scapes told me about a new synthetic turf product that they have. It's eco-friendly and 100% recyclable. Really pleased with how it worked out. I'll definitely use this crew again. They do great work.

Just wanted to give Smart Scapes LLC a quick shoutout for the fantastic dog park they built over in East Nashville. My wife and I go there all the time. Really impressed with their handiwork and we've needed a dog park in this area for quite some time now. Glad they built it!

Really great work from these guys. I was having seemingly endless problems with flooding on my property. Just could not stop by basement from getting water in it every time it rained. So I hired Smart Scapes to do some strategic landscaping and basically install rain gardens, special plants that would help draw the water AWAY from my house. It's been working so far!

I was dreading replacing my old driveway. I really didn't want to have to deal with it. But Smart Scapes LLC made the process easy and pleasant even. They helped me pick out the right type of paver for the job. Basically, my old asphalt driveway was more potholes than driveway, and rather than just redoing the asphalt, I wanted to really change the driveway and make it a lot nicer. So we went with permeable pavers, and now my driveway actually transfers water through the driveway and into the ground beneath. How neat is that? Couldn't be happier with the driveway, and I couldn't be happier with the Smart Scapes crew. I'll definitely be hiring them again.

What a great paving company! I hired them to replace my driveway to make it storm-water mandated. It was quite the task, but their machine-install approach and their organized nature made the job go quickly enough. And now I have a fantastic, custom-built, eco-friendly driveway! What a fantastic experience with Smart Scapes LLC. I've worked on a lot of properties in the past but this has got to be the best landscaping and hardscaping company I've dealt with. They always showed up on time, their workforce was very pleasant, respectful, hardworking, and prideful of their work, and David, the boss, was a master of his craft. I've been really pleased with the work I've gotten done with Smart Scapes LLC. This team knows landscaping and hardscaping better I think than anyone else. They're also quite prompt, and friendly too. I like their ability to create custom landscaping projects. They're definitely not cookie cutter landscapers.
