My sister had been sick for over 1 year kept going into the er Dr Bullock and Dr. NIXON kept diagnosis her with COPD even gave her meds for it. She died a year later with plasma cell luickiema / multiple myloma was even written in her chart They let her die a slow and painful death. So I give this hospital emergency room a 0 for not doing their job, for caring and most of all not teaching the students. They failed.

Time for your colonoscopy or need to have that EGD performed? The endoscopy department is clean with profressional staff. Get in and out and still enjoy your day. Just make sure you have a ride home and take your prep!

I give a 0 because my mother-in-law can not move from waste down she has a pee bag and she is a big woman. She does not eat much don't know why she can't loose my 16 yr.old daughter road with her because she can not hear that well. But guess what she her heard the nurse say she was to big to lift and needs to loose wait. OK so my daughter spoke up because my mother in law started crying. The nurse told her to be quite she's underage. That's bull if you don't like your job quit. She best hope she never experience it. So no stars. First time there never again

I don't have time to write a detailed review, but if you ever need a gastroenterology/surgeon, see Dr. Craig Ternovitz. He is an awesome surgeon! And he is very thorough, very professional and cares about every step of your treatment and healing process. He listens attentively, and explains in detail your diagnosis and treatment options. He's one of a kind among his peers in this day and age where patients have just become numbers. This is one doc who actually CARES about his patients.

Normally I would give them 5 stars! Dr. Wayne Moore is the only reason for my 0 star post. I have a rare disease. My entire body was in spasms. The spasms were so strong that they PUSHED OUT 2 TAPED DOWN IV's!! I was sent home still in full body spasms. And a discharge paper saying it was a reaction from coming off of antipsychotic drugs! I DON'T TAKE ANTIPSYCHOTIC MEDS!! NOT PRESCRIBED ANY, AT ALL. My spasms lasted 3 days. My nurse was AMAZING! The doctor, barely spoke to me other than to admit he knows nothing about my disease. HE SHOULD HAVE USED GOOGLE!

Do I have to give this ER a star?! This place is awful. All of the staff is very jaded I assume because people come in for non serious issues and demand pain meds. That leaves everybody else who is in legit pain without medication. I am a type one diabetic and I went in for chest pain that was causing my bloodsugars to run dangerously high(300's to 400's). The nurse who triaged me had the audacity to tell me that the only reason my bloodsugar was high was because I ate something!? she knew nothing about my condition. I was constantly asked if I was on drugs or if I was drunk! I wish I had a dollar for everytime I was asked that. The doctor diagnosed me with bronchitis but did NOT even give me antibiotics. Bronchitis is a lung INFECTION and infections make my bloodsugar high! The staff is absolutely TERRIBLE. FIRE THESE PEOPLE ASAP.

In the past two years---I have been on the indigent program at this hospital. It is a GREAT program for those who are unable to get medical insurance for themselves. I've came in contact with many people who work there in these two years but I must say that the ladies (not all but two) that work in the aid department when you go to sign up for the indigent program are VERY mean and nasty towards people for no reason at all. The older lady that has the orange colored hair (black older chubby lady) that is in room 105 makes it a point to turn needy people away but soon as you go past her or to another person in the same department---you get approved. I dont know her name but I know she's older, probably in her 50's, has orange (probably red in her eyes) and a terrible personality. The other lady that handled my paper work goes by the name of Ms. Russell. She made it very obvious that I (maybe all of us that were in the there) were getting on her nerves...very short with me, twisted her face up twice as if she smelled something foul when talking to me and the person that had to sign for me. It's hard to make complaints on people when you are trying to get help for yourself but someone REALLY needs to speak with their staff about how to treat people. Anywho, as far as the hospital and all that it does for the public is GREAT!...God bless those who really care about being in the medical field and care about helping those less fortunate than themselves.

The best thing about this hospital/clinic is Dr. M. Kalliny. He is an amazing, considerate, wonderful, intelligent doctor. He has been so kind and respectful to my family.

I have been going to the clinic at nashville general for several years now because of constant back pain, due to herniated disc, and no income or insurance. I have seen many so-called drs in the clinic,I have to say this place is a joke. The drs dont listen will give you absolutely nothing for pain. I wouldnt even give them 1 star!!! however the ER is quite sufficent!

Quick and excellent care

I am uninsured and suffer from complex ptsd. Ive needed medical services from the ER at Nashville General. I was not expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised at how quickly I was seen and how good the care was. I remember when I had insurance and went to fancy hospitals, the experience was actually not as good. I recommend this hospital for both the insured and uninsured alike. I mainly saw Dr. Bullock and I found her to be very courteous and knowledgable. The only downside is that you will occasionally see interesting characters in the waiting room but they are harmless and security is available so I think the visit is still well worth it.

This hospital doesn't even des...

This hospital doesn't even deserve one star; I took my husband to this hospital a couple of weeks ago and it ended up being a nightmare from the very first nurse we saw to the last; To begin with the nurse trying to start the IV couldn't hit the vein to save her life and whats worse, she laughed both times she missed the vein. (Jenny was her name) Once my husband is wheeled into the preop room, one nurse apparently had a cold.. and instead of avoiding patients as a common courtesy, she is coughing everywhere with no regard to the safety of the patient; my husband actually had to tell her to stay away from him; Once surgery was over, the nurses on the 6th floor (March 2nd & 3rd 2012 evening) were very loud all night long, disconnected from my husbands needs, didn't take his call button responses seriously..unless it's common for them at MeHarry to respond 30mins later, they tried to reuse a oxygen nose piece that fell on the floor, back on my husband, he actually HAD to tell them, there was no way he was going to use it again; Two female nurses, while taking my husband down to Xray were discussing amongst themselves how they thought it would be a great idea to sell their old pain meds at the hospital to recoup some of their costs; one male nurse while disconnecting my husband from his pain drip said how he thought he would be great to pour the rest of what was left, into his Dr. Pepper; I called into the hospital one day and received the Operator . After listening to her talk and laugh with someone else first for about 10-15sec she finally says "Operator"- The staff was so unprofessional that I could not believe I was witnessing was I was seeing; I was extremely appalled at their lack of compassion and timeliness getting to my husband; and not just my husband.. one man fell out of his bed and according to my husband, while he was screaming in pure agony on the floor, it took those same nurses 10-15mins to help him back into his bed. I mean REALLY??!! These particular nurses def do not need to be in the healthcare profession. It was a very sad situation and after seeing the cleanliness and attitude of the staff, I would recommend the whole hospital shut down. I wouldn't take my worst enemy here. If you HAVE to go to this hospital please beware. If you can at all choose anywhere else.. go there!! AB

Highly Recommend.

Both my husband and I were laid of from very good jobs leaving us without health care insurance. When my husband had an emergency we had no choice but to go where we could get some type of assistance. The staff at General Hospital went out of their way to make sure he was comfortable. With a staff that work both at General and Vanderbilt all of his question were answers with expertise and knowledge. We where in and out in just a few hours. I would recommend General to anyone with a need.

The staff needs to work on their attitudes however, their treatment is always right on point.
