Went to Lonnie Young shoes due to convenient location versus traveling farther to another children's shoe store we had previously visited. We knew what we were looking for- first walkers for our 11 month old. We were surprised how the salesperson spoke about a Stride Rite shoe that is currently offered at Stride and other stores- saying the model was outdated. After a quick measurement, the salesperson brought out 5 boxes of shoes, the SALES PITCH was on! She said one can always needs a 2nd pair of walkers and a girl needs to be fashionable- showing us other designs of boots and shoes! When we said no thank you, the salesperson tried to sell us shoe polish, then said you need some lace socks to go with those shoes! SALE SALE SALE! The salesperson jumped up and ran to the check out, not asking if we had any question or concerns or if we were happy with the shoes, it seemed she was in a hurry to rush us along! We paid and stepped out of the store- feeling as if we had been treated like cattle! Get them in, hit them with whatever you can sell, get them out quickly! Maybe the children's shoe that was 10 miles farther would have a better experience!

Lonnie Young is always the first place I go to get my one and three year old boys their shoes. Love the friendly service of this local shop. So much better than the mall!

If you have a child in Nashville and haven't been to Lonnie Youngs- go now! I could go on and on but for the short version, Lonnie Youngs has a fabulous selection of kids shoes in all styles. But the thing that sets them apart is their superb customer service. I had a pair of shoes break on a family trip this summer and they returned and replaced it with no hassle. I buy all of my kids shoes here!

Lonnie Young always carries an exceptional selection of beautiful, well-made children's shoes, but what sets the store apart is the fantastic service. They not only carefully measure the children's feet, they check and recheck each fitting to make sure it's perfect. My daughter has to wear custom orthotics in her school shoes, and the salesmen spent a good half hour trying different widths and sizes until she had a shoe that was not only comfortable but kept her foot in position with the orthotic perfectly. No matter how crowded it gets, the salesperson waiting on you takes all the time you need to get exactly the shoes you want. You leave knowing that the shoes fit your child's feet without danger of blisters or of outgrowing them too quickly. I can't recommend this store highly enough!
