El Palenque first opened it’s doors in Knoxville, Tennessee on November of 1981. El Palenque’s popularity grew fast and was fueled by the craze for it’s cheese dip and salsa, traditional Mexican dishes, and inviting family atmosphere. The rapid growth and success encouraged El Palenque to move it’s unique traditional flavors to Nashville, Tennessee. During the year of 1988, El Palenque opened it’s first Nashville location on Nolensville Road. Good Mexican food. The waiter's English wasn't very good but it had little impact on the service experience.
