Ristorante Ciao's chef/owner Gianfranco Loreti was born in Colle Di Tora, Italy. He began his training at La Scuola Alberghiera in Rleti and went on to apprentice in some of the best known restaurants and resorts throughout Italy. Gianfranco Loreti is a member of the Italian Chef Association. Since opening Ciao Ristorante in April 1987 Chef Loreti has received many awards including Gulfshore Life Magazine's "Best Italian Restaurant" several times, as well as "Best Appetizer" and "Best Kept Secret." Those who appreciate fine dining have recognized Ciao as Southwest Florida's best Italian cuisine for nearly 25 years, serving traditional Italian dishes and the Chef's special creations. Appetizers include the award winning Asparagi in Camicia and Calamari Al Parmigiano. Homemade pasta dishes include popular traditional favorites as well as unique House Specials such as Fettuccine Ciao made with fresh Maine lobster. Veal and fresh seafood are also highlighted on the menu. Most of the desserts are homemade, including Tiramisu and a unique Warm Zabaglione. Ciao has a full bar and an extensive wine list.
