customer for 5 years...unit new purchased through jones 2 years ago parts covered 10 years labor 1 ...had annual maintenance contract with jones ...problem would not cool...called Jones...tech came said manufacturer design or defect when converting to high efficiency design such that new TXV / coil was required. Labor est $600.not covered by maintenance agreement and these Rheem units have this problem frequently...He said he was not able to charge unit to get it to cool AND if replaced problem could reoccur (at my cost) Sort of take it or leave it ...it is hot and we have lots of work! Got 2nd opinion ...Called competitor, (Home tech) got running in 15 minutes house cool 1 hour and offered guaranteed repair if necessary for less money and to cover any future reoccurrence as courtesy if maintenance agreement at a cost similar to Jones what I was paying Jones was in effect. A no brainer ....can not recommend Jones or their so called maintenance
