Previous 5 visits all very good. This past visit service was horrible. No introduction , no mention of food or drink specials, not paying attention to table whatsoever. Had to send food back because he wrote down wrong lunch selection. Worse, he never apologized. Took almost 2 hours for lunch, then disappeared with credit card for 20 more minutes. Too bad, they lost a family of customers!

WHAT A SURPRISE. HAVING GONE TO THE GYPSY CAFE 12 TIMES DURING THE 2014 SEASON WITHOUT A PROBLEM, TONITE WE HAD A DOOZIE. ORDERING 2 ENTIRES THAT CAME WITH FRENCH FRIES, AND HAVING BOTH PARTIES NOT BEING ABLE FOR HEALTH REASONS,NOT BEING ABLE TO EAT FRENCH FRIES, WE ASKED IF ONE PARTY COULD SUBSISTUE ONION RINGS AND THE OTHER PARTY NOT HAVING A SIDE. BEING TOLD WE COULD NOT BY THE MANAGER BECAUSE OF COST REASONS. WHILE ONION RINGS have way less salt and have more protein so they would be healthier, THE COST OF 2 ORDERS OF FRIES OVER 1 ORDER OF RINGS COULD NOY BE COST EFFECTIVE.

I ONLY HOPE THE LOSS OF 12 VISITS THIS YEAR IS WORTH IT FOR THE MANAGEMENT.

My family and I went there for our first time to check out the place. It is tucked back off the road, and is a nice spot. Our waitress was ill or something that day though, in between serving us our drinks and food, she kept running to the restrooms to vomit "you could hear her in there". The couple next to us thought it was amusing, but we lost our appetites. She was the tall younger redhead, and she should have been sent home that day. We will probably not go back again.

My husband and I went to the Island Gypsy for a late lunch one weekend, the atmosphere is pretty nice, and the food was pretty good too, however our waitress was playing on her phone when we arrived to be seated, and seemed annoyed she had to put the phone down to seat us. the rest of the time she was rude, and that's not when she was on her phone again. She was the skinny girl with reddish hair. we will go back again, just not in her section
