Great surgeon, helpful and kept me informed. I would definitely use him again. I had a hip replacement and was walking without a walking stick within three weeks. He uses the latest technology, I truly trust him and feel I was in good hands. I would use him again if I every needed the other hip replacing.

Worst experience one can have. My boyfriend who is 33 went to see Dr. Dounchis with a pain in the left knee, after the recommendation of his physician. For somebody who is that young knee problem is not so common, so it was of great concern to us. However, Dr. Dounchis took no time to analyze MRI and Xray or to explain what is the cause of the pain. He immediately suggested to inject my boyfriend with the cortisone, said that would help him, informed him that he had performed 40 injections today and gave him 2 min to think about it, with the nurse standing near by ready with the paperwork. Put in the corner after weeks of pain my boyfriend accepted. Dr. Dounchis told him that if that does not help he will perform SURGERY on the knee. The doctor did not allow any questions following the procedure and stormed out of the room. Total time spent with the patient, including the procedure was around 5-10 min.

Well, it turned out cortisone did not help and we decided to seek second opinion.

What we found is that my boyfriend actually had a problem with a nerve in his knew and he needed to see a neurologist for further evaluation.

So doctor Dounchis did not diagnose him accurately( he probably did not bother to look at the MRI at all), performed a procedure that was completely unnecessary and was gonna go so far to perform surgery on someone that does not need it.

So it seems to me that he was just trying to cash in on his patient instead of helping him.

For all of you that are considering seeing him, go somewhere else, if you like to be treated as a human being not as a human ATM machine.

I HAVE READ THE OTHER REVIEWS OF DR. DOUNCHIS AND I HAVE TO COMPLETELY AGREE HE IS A GREAT SURGEON AND A VERY NICE PERSON. HE HAS A GREAT STAFF AND THEY ARE A GREAT SUPPORT SYSTEM THAT ALLOWS HIM TO WORRY ONLY ABOUT THE SURGERIES AND HIS PATIENTS AND NOT THE OFFICE.I HAD TO HAVE A SURGERY DONE AND HE HELPED ME THROUGH THE RECOVERY PROCESS AND THE REHAB AND WAS ALWAYS THERE TO KEEP ME GOING EVEN WHEN I WANTED TO GIVE UP BECAUSE IT HURT TO MUCH. I AM COMPLETELY HEALED NOW AND ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS "THANK YOU" FOR HELPING ME THROUGH A VERY DIFFICULT TIME IN MY LIFE.

DR. DOUNCHIS IS THE BEST ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON NAPLES HAS TO OFFER THE PEOPLE. VERY EDUCATED, UP ON ALL THE NEW TECHNIQUES, GREAT STAFF , I WOULD RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE SEEKING A SURGEON. DR. DOUNCHIS THANK FOR CHOOSING NAPLES TO PRACTICE MEDICINE WE ARE SO BLESSED TO HAVE YOU HERE.

DR. DOUNCHIS IS ONE OF THE MOST EDUCATED,FREINDLY, PASSIONATE DOCTOR I HAVE MET.HE REALLY CARES ABOUT HIS PATIENTS AND WILL SIT DOWN AND LISTEN. I HAD A VERY COMPLICATED SURGERY DONE BY HIM AND ALL I CAN SAY IS THANK YOU DR. DOUNCHIS YOU FIXED ME. I WOULD TELL ANYONE TO GO TO HIM AND CHECK HIS CREDENTIALS. WE IN NAPLES ARE SO FORTUNATE TO HAVE A DOCTOR OF SUCH HIGH CALIBUR. I HAVE TOTAL TRUST IN THIS MAN TO BE ABLE TO FIX ANYONES PAIN AND SUFFERING.
