The Big Corkscrew Island Fire Control & Rescue District is a full-service public safety agency that offers a variety of fire rescue and prevention services. It organizes a variety of public education and special programs that help and assist the residents during the normal fire and medical emergency situations. The department works to protect the lives, property and environment from the threats and occurrences of emergencies. It undertakes fire investigations, reviews plans and conducts inspections. The Big Corkscrew Island Fire Control & Rescue District maintains a staff of more than 30 employees. In addition, the department receives and response to request calls for emergency medical assistance. The Big Corkscrew Island Fire Control & Rescue has been operational since 1977 and maintains a presence in Naples, Fla.
