We bought a variety of shrubs from Laysers last September. The shrubs held up fine until recently when 2 started dying. We returned with pictures showing the shrubs and asking what went wrong. Basically, they weren't sure, but then told us it was our fault for not following planting instructions. We had already said we did follow any instructions given to us, but couldn't remember the step by step process we did. One lady said it was because we didn't split the roots before we planted. No where did the instructions state to do that. You're better off going to a nursery that will guarantee your purchase, which many in this area do. The prices here are also very high, and if you had a problem, they're not happy to help.

I have always had a good experience with Layser's. I think the commenter below was already having a bad week before she went to Layser's because the service has been consistently good for me. The ladies are always helpful. I've always been asked if I need help finding anything, and when we asked, we were given honest advice about the placement of a butterfly bush. She said it would not thrive as well in the spot we were considering. I told her it was beautiful and I would find another spot for it! Not a vulture situation at all!! I've been there 5 times and the service is consistent. The plants are priced very reasonably, and they are always healthy. Given the attitude of the lady below, if she visited MY store, I would also say as little as possible. Don't let one life-frustrated drama queen sway you from a delightful garden center that has helped make our yard beautiful. I love to go there- they work very hard in the worst of the summer heat and do a wonderful job! Their success speaks for itself and is why they have been around forever and have a HUGE local following with hardly any advertising. Even contractors and professional landscapers go there for their plants!

bad service

I felt like I was with vultures while shopping, they wanted cash for discounts on trees with no green leaves or water for weeks. The two blonds wanted to make a sale but not assist in buying, I bought blackberry, raspberry, and cherry trees did they tell me I needed polinators NO did they make sure they got my 100 cash YES they were vultures I will NEVER go back to layers again, the trees were almost dead with lots of tsc needed and they gave me 4 dollars off...
