We looked at a lot of apartments when our BSU daughter and a few of her girlfriends decided to move off campus. Gierhart Rentals was the right choice. They totally renovated the apartment building inside and out, and I mean everything. Our questions and repair requests were always taken care of promptly. Very reasonably priced and she walks to all of her classes. Sorry if you rent from someone else.

Michelle is an awful women with no morals. She will refuse to give back your security deposit when you move out so if you want it back get a lawyer (I did!) She will also try to make you pay for apartment repairs that you did not damage (god forbid she put any of her own$$ into her apartments). She will lie to your face, she is a horrible landlord. Dont rent from her. When I moved in our carpet had fleas whjch she tried to blame on us even though we just moved in that day and had no pets. Our neighboor had a broke window which she didnt fix even though it was negative 15 degrees outside. She doesnt insulate her buildings water pipes to code so when I lived there a wayer pipe burst in January from the cold and we all had to be evacuated at 2am. After this happened the electricity in the entire building kept short circuiting every two hours but she refused to admit there had been electric damage or fix it. Dont rent from her. Living in a tent is better than renting from her.

The worst landlord in Muncie. Nothing short of evil. Stay far away...tell them no thanks no matter how low the rent.

James Gierhart was a pretty cool guy who seemed to care about his tenants, but ever since his wife Michelle took over, it's like living under a slum lord. And she even raised the rent from where he'd had it. There have been bug infestations, leaking pipes, broken windows, etc. She charged my neighbors hundreds of dollars in lawyer fees after she tried to evict them for being a few days late on rent even after she had told them over the phone that it would be alright. Another friend of mine came in at move-in day and there were flees and they hadn't even cleaned from the previous tenant. When I moved in the windows in my apartment were broken and they weren't replaced for 9 months, even after I asked repeatedly, even through -14 degree weather. If you're absolutely desperate, take your chances, but otherwise avoid this company.

The owner, Michelle Gierhart, doesn't care about her tenants. My apartment had not been cleaned by my move in day, I had a bug infestation that their own exterminator refused to do anything about, and although many tenants have pets, she refused to allow me to have one. DO NOT RENT HERE, SHE WILL NOT HESITATE TO EVICT YOU.
