I have a family member who has been a resident here for quite some time (years). I have seen many "nursing homes" and this place is way better than most. Clean...modern...clean. Did I say clean? (Health Dept right next door!!) Large population of younger people (30-40-50). Many activities and "out-trips"...(cider mill, Tiger game, Zoo, Walmart, etc). My sister now has a better social life than she EVER did at home. She considers many on the staff to be friends. Computers with internet access in every lobby area. Pet visits. Only 4 stars because residents are not allowed outside without permission. I know why but it still feels like treating people as if they are children.
