I've tried to find good mexican restaurants in chicago and there have been some okay places but most people tell me they know a great mexican restaurant and i find out they only order one thing and its something simple with just meat and cheese and im always disappointed. I had given up on places in IL altogether but i was pleasantly surprised with Taco Madre in montgomery. I tried the chile rellenos and it was excellent, definitely has a little kick to it and the pepper was huge. I also tried their Chilango madre plate. the steak was delicious and i used the avocado sauce on it. their salsa they bring out while you wait is cooked which gives it some extra heat, very good. I would definitely eat here again.
