I see NP Shelley Padgett at IBH (MPA) in Montgomery. I have known for my whole life that I have ADHD, but i was ashamed to ask for help. I know from past experiences that when you ask for help, you often get labeled. When someone is labeled like it or not they’re stuck with that label, so I tried managing it on my own. Once I got to college, different meds were easy to come by and extremely tempting to get.
I have had many different careers that needed my full attention and because I had issues providing my undivided attention; I lost several careers that I worked very hard to achieve. Once I started my fourth career, I decided it was time to get help.
I sought out the help from IBH (MAP) Montgomery. This has been one of the best decisions that I have ever made. NP Padgett has changed my life and given me new hope for a prosperous future. She is treating me for adult ADHD and PTSD. I cannot express how much I appreciate her. She is an amazing person and Nurse Practitioner. I know that she really cares about me and is interested in my well-being. She is helping me to progress and achieve my newest goals with a good head on my soldiers.
I encourage anyone who is thinking about asking for help, but feel ashamed look her up. Make an appointment! She can help

MPA has in the past held a great standing of Drs. And a handful to choose from, all great. As of today I have been greatly disappointed in my 14 yearspan as a patient to doctors like Drs. Ward, Hardwood, Demooth and what I understand Dr. Freeman. Unfortunately it seems that the first 3 great Drs. have over time retired, and sorely missed. The absence of great Drs. leave MPA stagnate. With helpful Rn that are effecient. My visits are 30 mins quick With Dr freeman now taking on most if not all the work load, office admin. seems to have begun to place patients into the care of Rn who are great but no doctorates in psychology. With Hardwood to retire from the field, office management has bogged down the last dr. and begun to give patients hard ultimatums that can end and destroy minds and lives. MPA has a nicer office now on the eastside but change is happing and it may not be for the greater good. This lack of care and hope is one persons agenda that needs to be reconciled.
