The Community Department works under the government of Montclair, Calif., and provides staffing to the Planning Commission and Community Action Committee. It maintains a planning division that guides residents and developers through the development processes, coordinates project review with other departments and public agencies and processes information requests. The Community Department has a human services division that provides medical and mental health services and early childhood education, as well as operates a variety of senior citizen programs, including daily meal services.
