Food with a personal touch.

I never heard of the town of Molalla until I just happened to be motorcycling through on a trip to see what was out there. I happened to stop by a local gas station and inquired about a "good place to eat." Jill's Hitchin Post Cafe was recommended as a good place to eat. It looked like a nice homey place to eat, and with a personality to boot ...not the typical Denny's or McDonalds place. This place looked rustic. A lot of older local people were eating there, so that was a good sign. I ordered the Western Scramble and with a side of gravy. Since I'm on a diet, I passed on the hash browns. My companion got the hash browns, and then I realized I should have gotten them too. The hash browns were fresh, and more like moist cooked potatos instead of the crispy overcooked unappetizing hash browns you get at the typical coffee shop. My Western Scramble arrived. I emptied the one cup of pork sausage (diet food...yeah, right) over the scramble and tasted what I created: Western Scramble smothered in pork sausage gravey. It was delicious. In fact it was more delicious than expected. Jill, the cook, puts a personal touch into her cooking, and you taste that extra effort. Everything is cooked perfectly. You can't get this perfectly cooked food at a fast food restaurant. The coffee was also delicious. If I lived in that area I'd be eating at Jill's Hitchin Post Cafe regularly, but I'm from east of Reno, Nevada. However, the next time I do my yearly motorcycle trip to the Seattle area, and into Canada, I'll take the detour to eat here again! I will be worth it!

A great Mama-Papa cafe.

Really great food!!! Two excellent, well known, local cooks. Very clean. Good and friendly help.

Very cheap prices for very good food. Basically a breakfast and lunch cafe. Open from 5 to 2

A good variety for LARGE omlettes (they are really famous for their omlettes).

Great steaks, biscuits and gravy, cheese blintzes, deep fried macaroni, sweet potato pancakes, waffles and fries.

Home made soup every day, breakfast and lunch specials every day, good coffee.
