I went to Gay after a really bad breakup and general depression from a high stress job. I was looking for some encouragement and support. All I got was constant criticism and blame. Instead of feeling better, lighter, less stressed after counseling, I started feeling more and more dragged down. After so many appointments like this I decided to bring this up only to be immediately shot down because apparently I wasn’t the one seeing things clearly. That is when I decided to stop seeing Gay. I did eventually start seeing another counselor who was more supportive and who actually had some empathy, unlike Gay, but I am still feeling the effects of the mental abuse she put me through. If you suffer from depression then do yourself a favor and go to another counselor. Sadly, you will not find the help you need here.
