I was measured for a special order dress and it was recommended that I order a size 2.Only my hips were 1 inch larger. I have never been a size 2 in my adult life and was then wearing a size 6. I compromised with ordering a size 4, but had doubts and phoned the following day. I happened to speak with the owner Mira and she trusted Dawn's judgment but would discuss it with her before ordering. I received a phone call from Dawn regarding my concern about the alterability and she said I could order a size 6, but it would be 2 sizes too big. As I stated to Mira, I had to rely on their expertise as far as the manufacturer and the fit on prior clients. Six weeks later when the dress had arrived I had lost 5 lbs. and was now a size 4. The dress was still too small! I voiced these concerns to Allyson and she referred me to Arties Sewing and More. Artie was unable to do anything about the fit of the bodice and armholes. I wasn't happy with the fit at the back of the waist and she attempted to fix alter the darts by shortening them, but that did not improve the fit, and she said that was the best she could do given the type of fabric, which is satin. She was able to let out the hips, because I could not sit comfortably. After I picked up the dress from the drycleaners I discovered the buckling and puckering at the hem would not press out. The lining was sewn to the dress and was completely crooked. I had to take it to another seamstress to take in the darts for a better fit and to dismantle and restitch the lining and the dress. This was completed the day I was to leave town and Mira's was closed in the middle of the week. I have since tried to discuss it with her, but apparently she is not interested in the viability of her business. Please save yourself the stress and DONT GO THERE!!!

The first time I went in this store was for a sample sale, received no help when I was the only one in the store, not even a greeting. I went the second time because they are the only store around that carried the maker of a dress I wanted. The lady told me it came in 3 different colors, the tag said 2. She told me it wasn't silk when the tag said 100% silk. She told me they had the color swatches on hand, they did not. She told me it wouldn't cost anything to order swatches, but when she filled out the paperwork she told me it would. Very confusing service. They also had 1 person working the entire store on a busy Sunday with a bridal fair going on around the corner....
