Founded in 1956, Hollingers Island Elementary serves more than 300 students in kindergarten through fourth grade. Its academic curriculum includes English, math, science, social science, and health and physical education. Hollingers Island Elementary also offers a range of special education programs and services for students with special needs. The school has a cafeteria that serves chicken nuggets, cheeseburgers, pepperoni pizzas, toasted cheese sandwiches and Salisbury steaks. In addition, it offers a range of athletic activities and bilingual programs. Hollingers Island Elementary has a library and media center that offers an accelerated reader program. Located in Mobile, Ala., the school is a part of Mobile County Public Schools.
