Special Olympics Minnesota offers children and adults with intellectual disabilities year-round sports training and competition. Based in Minneapolis, Minn., it provides various sports activities, including alpine skiing, athletics, bocce, figure skating, poly hockey, softball, table tennis and many more. Its Special Olympics Motor Activities Training Program (MATP) is designed for people with severe or multiple disabilities who may not yet possess the physical and/or behavioral skills necessary to participate in official Special Olympics sports. More than 2.5 million athletes from nearly 200 countries around the world benefit from the participation in Special Olympics.
