service restoration tries to make you agree to a "contract" without giving you a cost. In about 45 minutes of listening to the "salesman" drivel I fired him from the job. He told me the job would be $1850. When I told him that would be fine, then he said "well, it turns out, I accidentally undercharged you. I should have charged you 3 times that but I'm going to try really hard to keep it at the $1850... but you never know..."
He opened a wall and then told me "Whoa! This is AT LEAST an $8000 job!
When I disagreed with him, he told me that this IS an $8000 job and there's nothing he can do. When I again disagreed and told him it was time for him to get his gear and get out of my building then he said "well... I'll do my best to keep it around the $1850."
I was already finished with him. I've been flipping houses for 20 years. I know a crooked contractor when I see one.
He said the entire job would be $1850 for demolishing and rebuilding. After he was fired (he only did about 75% of the demo and nothing for the repair) and charged me $1903.01.
Once we got his crooked-behind out of the way, the entire job cost: $1,742 (of course, I needed to pay his ridiculous bill too so the cost was higher).
In the process of the rebuild I contacted, via telephone, Jocelyn because she sent 2 bills in 3 days. I explained where the job stood and when a check would be paid to them. She was exceptionally rude.
Please please please steer clear of this company. They are rude and crooked. They try to overcharge you at a vulnerable time of your life. They won't give you a dollar total and demand that you sign contract with them. They're terrible!
