My car broke down on the highway on the way to the airport. Called Rainbow because my daughter had used them before with good results. They picked me up promptly and got me to the airport in time. Will use again.

We took a taxi from uptown to the airport at 5am on a Sunday. I'm was not farmiliar with taxi rates but when we got there the meter read $39 with seemed steep but we paid anyway without question. On our return trip 1 week later, including the $3 airport tax added to the meter the total was $29. Driver 1 was operating with a meter that was not working properly a violation of taxi ordinace. I did not ask why there was a belt on the floor in the back seat because I did not want know, not that the drive spoke english anyway. I will never call them again.

Called for a taxi through Rainbow - when a Checker cab appeared I knew I was in for it. I' d had a hassle before regarding the use of credit card vs. cash with a Checker driver. I always tell a driver I'm going to use a card - not cash - if they give me lip I get out of the cab. "I'll take you to an ATM." not interested, I replied - we were already on the road at this point. I said in a reasonable tone he could drop at the next business we passed - I would call a different taxi service. There began the ride from hell - the driver lied to me and said he didn't have any credit card slips ' Because I'm a new driver.' I called the rainbow number to get clarification on the matter where I encountered more rudeness and was told signing a blank piece of paper was the same as a credit card slip - not okay with me I told driver and dispatcher. Then, the dispatcher said, take her back to where you picked her up and if she refuses to pay - call the police. At this point we were near my detination - so he drove into my driveway, put in park, popped the glove box and produced a blank credit card slip!. All the stress and rudeness for no reason. Call any taxi service in town other than Rainbow.
