We were out of town for a few weeks over the summer and returned to find a pair of dead squirrels in our chimney! Holy cow! What a stink! We had heard such very good reviews of Jack Pixley -- "the most reliable in the Twin Cities," and so on -- and gave them a call. They were on site and under way within a day. Aaron was absolutely outstanding. He cleaned out the reeking mess, inspected the entire flue, refitted a mesh at the top of the chimney that had come dislodged while we were away, added a stainless steel rain guard, cleaned up and disposed of things as good as new. We were genuinely impressed... and thankful. Now we can add from personal experience, "Jack Pixley is one of the very best!" A sincere and genuine thanks.

Nick Richardson did the estimate and most of the repair. My chimney needed a new flue liner and a new chimney top. I found Nick to be personable, professional, very skilled at his trade, and very patient with my endless questions. He took the time to thoroughly explain the how and why of every step of the flue relining process and building the new chimney top. He told before they started in reference to clean up at jobs completion, it will look like we were never here before we leave. Which was exactly the case, their clean up at the jobs completion was outstanding!! Great people to work with and no surprises.

Aaron called to let me know exactly when he would arrive (and did). He was very thorough, explained everything patiently and in detail. His work was clean and complete, and most of all he was considerate and felt very trustworthy.

Aaron was very thorough cleaning the firebox and hearth after cleaning the chimney. At the time as I watched him I commented that we could eat of the surface (joking obviously, but the point was that he did such a complete job. No mess left behind. Complete inspection on the roof and video down the chimney, with detailed report. Aaron explained the video inspection and what he observed, so there were no surprises in the report. I was a little surprised at the cost, but I prefer to have certified technicians and insured licensed companies do the work. Two years ago I had contacted someone I found on the internet who appeared to be legit, but turned out to be a fly-by-night, to replace my chimney liner. He claimed he had certification and had it plastered all over his website. After digging I found he was a fraud - no certification and no license (department of labor and industry). I contacted Jack Pixley, verified license at dept of labor and industry, verified certifications, and had Jack Pixley company replace my chimney liner. Inspected last year and this year. All is good and I am pleased. For naysayers - use the cheap guy at your own risk - I prefer a licensed professional and I know it is done right.

Don't waste your time calling for an estimate. There are other places that offer free estimates.Website looks like they may do some pretty good work but who puts bad photos on their site. So its not worth paying for an estimate for a higher than average bid (was told the cost of work would likely be higher than anyone else)

I recently experienced excellent service from Jack Pixley Chimney-Sweeps and Masonry. There technician Roman was amazing to work with. He was very patient with the many questions I had. He took the time to explain everything he was seeing inside the chimney and outside the home. He even went in the basement to discuss how the boiler and water heater vented. Roman was professional, friendly, diligent and someone I would completely trust to make sure the job was done right.
