We were introduced to this company about 11 years ago when they were sub contractors for a major remodeling job. We subsequently used them for a replacement air cleaner and a couple of central air units and furnaces, but have not dealt with them for a few years. When my son's humidifier needed repair(different house) we called them. I was told it would be $125 for a service call, they would not have the suspected bad parts and would just charge time and labor after the $125 diagnosis. OK. The tech came and quoted a new water supply valve which we knew was bad at $125 installed from his price list. This part costs about $13 at retail at Menards or Home Depot, and I could install it myself in about 15 minutes. Just think how long it would take someone who knows what he's doing to do it. The electronic sensor was the main culprit a $70 part at retail, 4 screws and 6 terminal connections $320 off of his price list. But for just about $100 more, a whole new humidifier comparable to the Honeywell humidifier. For $620, they could install the comparable new AprilAir. The tech "don't blame me ... they have to pay for insurance, the van, salary etc etc etc and have to stay in business." Paraphrasing him: I'm OK I go to church on Sunday, when my stuff breaks, I get the parts fix it myself.



Well I guess this is the last time we will deal with these people. Gouging is one thing, rote dishonesty and misrepresentation another!

Flare has been great to us! We had a furnace issue and they came out right away and got it fixed promptly. They were very professional and courteous and I would call them again and recommend them highly.

Flare came out and replaced my furnace and air conditioner. Bruce was very knowledgable about the equipment and explained the options to us very well. The installers were neat and professional, showed up when they said they would, and walked us through how to use the new system. I would defiinitely recommend them as well as use them again

This company broke my air conditioning during a tune up and then charged me over $600.00 to repair it. They did not return my calls to discuss. Ultimately they sent me to collections and damaged my credit. If they were the last contractor on earth I wouldn't let them touch my heating or airconditioning.
