Poor customer service, appalling animal work...

I have never been to a worse clinic, if you love your pets, it would be wise to look else where.Two nurses at desk ignored me as I walked in. I was the one who addressed them after waiting for almost two minutes. I had to wait until all the other patients as they walked in the door were addressed before a doctor finally came to my exam room(the doors are super thin so you can hear everyone's conversation)-I assume this is because they apparently "Don't Charge For the First Exam for Adopted Pets", but seriously I even had a set appointment and many of the people that came afterwards were non-serious walk ins. Doctor DID NOT explain what he was doing and what should be done for my cat that has a cold. I kept having to repeatedly ask him "What are you giving him? Why are you doing that?" which comprised most of the five minutes that he was "helping me." He tried taking my cats temp, but needed assistance (even though I had my cat tightly restrained), and then to find out the idiot didn't turn on the thermometer!?! Doctor didn't explain what I needed to do for my kitty when we got home, saying the nurses will explain it. Then it took THREE nurses to find out what the heck I needed to give my cat, and then they couldn't write up directions for me and also printed the incorrect prescription and directions on the sticky label. The tech at the counter couldn't do the math to figure out the total and tried to double charge me. Told me to come back if "he's still sick."Speaking on behalf of my cat who is the most mild tempered, laid back cat, he was trying to hide in my neck the entire time. What a disaster.

Terrible terrible Shameful

Me and my daughter showed up there moments after close on a sat in early April 2012. Yes, after close, my daughter tried to get someones attention but everyone seemed to be hiding. When she was finally able to get someone's attention from the inside she held up her SICK KITTEN to show them she had a problem. Then the most terrible thing happened, the inside door was SLAMMED SO HARD IT RATTLED THE PLATE GLASS MAIN DOOR! She came back to the car crying. Thankfully I was finally able to get a signal with my phone and piece together some directions to a pet ER. REALLY! This clinic came so highly referred by so many of our neighbors that I thought surely at 12:02 on a saturday SOMEBODY would at least answer a question. I understand that they were locked up, and probably would be able to do anything. We were ready to go to the ER but since we're pretty new to the area, and brand new pet owners we hadn't had time to look for a clinic, or a back up one if needed. I think even shouting some directions thru the door would have been nicer than this! I don't think they could have been clearer with the "GoAWAY" than that. I guess the referrals about how great they are really only mean that they are GREAT, WONDERFUL, FRIENDLY, and CARING only during business hours, anything after that you are nothing but unwelcome trash. We did get to golden valley to the ER and the staff was very helpful, expensive, but worth it. We really liked our emergency Dr. I forgot her name, she was really nice, and extremely busy. The staff had several emergencies and I think they were even short staffed. Still, we got helped, it took a while, Kitty was only sick, not dying so there were other patients that came first. It wasn't ideal, but we didn't mind waiting, you gotta do what needs to be done. At the end of it all I still didn't mind paying $400 for the trip, at least they were nice! I WILL NEVER GO TO EAST LAKE ANIMAL CLINIC AGAIN!

Best Possible Care

We have used the vets at East Lake Animal Clinic for 20 years and always have gotten the best possible care. We have recommended them to friends and they all got the same care for their pets. I recommend them without reservation.

Love this place

I bring both of my dogs here and have for years. I totally love Dr. Olson. He takes the time to explain everything to you and answer all of your questions. They also follow up with you to be sure your animal is doing well after visits. Love, love, love them!

Got our cat sick and denied responsibility

Our kitty had gone in for surgery and two days later comes back sick. They tried to tell us it was from a bug linger around the house from a "new" cat. We HAD two healthy cats and within three days our male caught an infection at their clinic. They got him sick and now they want us to bring him in to look at him. NO WAY, we'll find another office that keeps their place clean and takes responsibility for it's actions. Avoid at all costs.
