Poor warranty repair services

Brought in an almost-new palm nailer and they refused to repair it despite being under warranty. Disappointing as the only local service center.

Excellent Customer Service and Repair

Working with my hitachi impact drill the other day and broke a bit off in the drill. When removing my broken bit, the spring fell out and could not get it back in. While I was looking for a local tool repair center, ran across Charles H Day co. Stopped by there thinking that I would need to drop it off and wait for a couple of weeks while it was repaired. Talked to a very friendly person and explaiined my problem. He quickly took the tool back to his bench and put it all back together within minutes without cost. Also overheard another tech consulting with another customer who purchased a part for his saw. He was taking time to answer all of the customers questions on installing the part in his saw. While waiting took a look around their store and I was amazed at all the tools that they had. They have about any power tool that a person would want and at some very good prices. I will make sure that they have my business from now on.Keep up with the excellent service. Now I know why they have been in business so long.Thank you.James L

years of wonderful service

Been coming here for years. I used to try to shop at all the tool stores. Try to spread my business around. Until the day came when I seen my tools being dropped of at chas day. I come to find out after asking around that most of the repair shops use CHD for the repairs and or parts. Why pay the mark up. They can be rough and lacking in PR but they are honest and will take care of you and have the parts in stock for most of the more popular tool lines. Yes,they are busy and you may have to wait a bit , but you cant get a better repair any where. So you may have to wait for a guy to come back from lunch or be put on hold or have to call back, but that's the best man for the job. I guess some just want to get the wrong part and be sold the wrong tool but be in and out. I dont mind being ask questions about what I what or need at least I understand more and know what in getting. This week I needed a chuck for my drill there put it on while I waited for no charge I was even willing to leave it nope the man said it will only take me a minute. This is a good ol' repair shop run by good ol' boys.

Many disappointing experiences!

Been coming to Charles Day since 1998 got my first heavy grinder there etc..they are rude and sarcastic and I've sworn in the past I wouldn't ever come back but you find yourself having to from time to time because you feel they are the only option. But they are not. Hall Tool Company in Portland does tool repair on all major brands, the Makita repair shop out on NE 122nd does repairs on all major brands and there are many better places to buy tools. I hadn't been back for a couple years since my last negative interaction with the guy on the counter. I put a skill saw on the counter and it was in its case and told him I needed a new power cord and he quipped "you need a power cord for that case" and he wasn't trying to be funny he was trying to make a fool out of me in front of all the people standing around so I retorted something, don't remember exactly what, and he got all hot around the collar like a small child. Recently had my employee drop a tool off on a Friday and couldn't even get an answer about when it would be looked at because the entire repair department was on lunch at the same time so they recommended I call back on Monday which I did and the guy on the other end of the phone was so abrasive and sarcastic I was kinda laughing when we spoke but he told me he didn't even know when they could tell me when they could look at it for an estimate. Then he say's we are just swamped it's gonna be at least three weeks. Three weeks before they can even look at it to tell me when they are gonna work on it. Absurd! Don't use these trolls. They are living in a fantasy world if they think their attitude is gonna be a prolonged and sustainable business model. I put up with a lot of guff to stay local and support small business because I am a small business owner myself and it is hard but these guys are not worth it.

Excellent service

Needed a rplacement part for my grinder. Two locations said it no longer was made. The ones that could get it charged three times as much as I paid here, and that included shipping. Very satified.

Best place to get a tool fixed I have ever seen. Hands down no question. I wish they did TVs and computers and stereos and flexible shaft tools. New tools arent necessarily THE cheapest, but usually reasonably priced, and sold by knowledgableg folks.
