The Women's Divorce & Legal Clinic is such an amazing Law office. I can't say enough how happy I am that I had Jamie represent me! She made sure that I was protected and made me feel so comfortable throughout the whole process. I had my divorce done in less than 5 months!

Women's Divorce and & Legal Clinic did a great job representing me foe my divorce. Jaime Young listened to me, heard what I said a fought for me. I could not have asked for a better outcome. My ex husbands attorney tried to come after me for spousal support and Jaime shut that down and I got exactly what I wanted. I will gladly recommend her to my sphere of influence.

Women's Divorce and Legal Clinic not only represented me but supported me personally as I went through one of the most emotionally challenged periods of my life. My divorce was made much more difficult when my ex-husband hired an obstructionist attorney and Phyllis's staff was able to apply her bulldog tactics and achieve a positive outcome. Even after the final divorce when my ex-husband continued to try and manipulate the Courts I had the full personal support of the agency behind me. It was through facing these tough challenges that helped me become the strong independent woman I am today and I really appreciate the personal touch that was provided by this law firm.

These are the facts of my expe...

These are the facts of my experiences with Women’s Divorce & Bankruptcy Clinic. I hired Phyllis Eisen, the owner, after she assured me that she had experience handling a divorce case involving a Disabled-American. She accepted my retainer and scheduled a preliminary hearing.

I didn’t hear from Phyllis again until a few days prior to the preliminary hearing when I called to inquire about my case. After searching for my file, her office staff informed me that it was “lying on a desk” and “wasn’t assigned to anyone.” I spoke to Phyllis about the situation and she became irascible. She yelled and told me that the hearing was unnecessary anyway and she cancelled the hearing. However, my retainer was charged for phone calls to find out about my case and to set-up then cancel the hearing.

Eventually she pushed my case down to a female employee. This attorney used the bulk of my retainer charging for phone calls made and received. The phone calls were moot because Phyllis assigned me to yet another one of her employees (a male) and he started from scratch… again. Her explanation for changing representation this time was that the female lawyer “had too many cases.” Once Phyllis and/or her representatives had frivolously drained my retainer, her staff began to call me and harass me about payments even though no real work was being done on my case.

During the final hearing, prior to the trial, the Respondent’s attorney produced a bogus, “cut & pasted” document which he used to insidiously convince the court that I could have a debt written of due to my disability status. Phyllis’ representative never asked to see the document during the hearing nor did he ever request a copy of the document for examination from the Respondent’s attorney. I contacted Phyllis and I told her that she needed to contact the court (before the trial) and provide the correct information. She told me, “That’s not the way it works.” And again, irascibly, she said that I would have to go through the trial then appeal if I didn’t agree with the decision. I fired Phyllis and successfully filed a complaint against the court. I had to do an exorbitant amount research and leg work to protect my own rights which were being violated.

The next court date that was scheduled to be a trial… magically turned into another hearing. All of the nonsense regarding my disability status stopped and clarification was made by the Judge. From then on, every time the Respondent’s attorney mentioned my disability the Judge stopped and redirected him. I was also allowed to state my case pro-se and time to find another attorney and the trial was rescheduled.

My new attorney struggled to get my divorce file from Phyllis… he said that it was incomplete and lacking original court documents. I had to go to her office and sit with her while we pick through sheets of paper in an effort to construct a file. Her small divorce file was disorganized and she didn’t know original from copy or where the originals were. After all of that, she even billed me to withdraw from my case.

I believe that I have paid enough -- and dearly -- for the lay legal services that I have received. Phyllis doesn’t believe that the two grand in cash that I have already paid her is enough. She still wants more money. She is now aggressively collecting for another 800 bucks.

Ultimately, the meager settlement that I received was based on the faulty foundation built by Phyllis Eisen and her representatives. The early actions of Phyllis set the tone for the entire divorce… even after she had been fired. My settlement barely affords me safe housing. Negative credit reporting makes it much tougher to secure safe housing. Phyllis Eisen has not been KIND to me.

Phyllis and Patrick were and are awesome. I went to WDB&L clinic after my divorce attorney was not getting it done. When I went to see Phyllis I had been trying to get divorced for 15 months with no end in site (I was no closer to the divorce then when I started). Here I am only after 7 months later she was able to make it happen. She gave me the information and the support I needed. She went above the bar to help me. I always felt as though she was in my corner and when I felt it was never going to happen she was there to comfort me. Also I am in a real financial hard place and work with me with a payment plan. I AM FOREVER THANKFUL FOR PHYLLIS

Low-cost, no frills professional service

I needed a divorce. I called several law firms and they wanted $5,000 retainers. I could not afford that. A friend sugested I contact this West Allis law firm. Their prices were reasonable. They treated me like a human being going through a tough time. My issues were not complex, I just wanted out of a lousy marriage. Atty. Eisen and her staff are caring and smart lawyers who treated me with repsect. Six months later I was free and it didn't cost me an arm and leg. If you want a lawyer who respects you and will get your divorce done without a lot of hassle, I recommend this office.

Satisfied Customer

I'm taking a moment to thank Phyllis Eisen, and all the staff at The Women's Divorce, Bankruptcy and Legal Clinic for bringing a successful close to my divorce. I appreciated the team effort I received and timely manner in which all my court appearances were set up and conducted. This was a difficult case with lots of unique issues that could have dragged out over a much longer period, but attorney Eisen and staff expedited all these issues quickly and efficiently. Thanks again to all.
