Uppa yard Authentic Jamaican Restaurant Growing up in Jamaica, family dinners were a tradition. My Grandmother Miss lena Edwards, she who is a Master Chef made dinner and my Aunts all would gather around and take notes, and my cousins, brothers and sister would all gather around the table to eat and enjoy each other’s company. Some sundays our extended family would join us for dinner, and Mama would also make fresh fruit juice to accompany our meals.​ We would pick the fruit in season from the nearby farmer’s market. From mango, to passion fruit, to soursop--Mama Lena would whip up a delicious concoction that complimented every meal to perfection.​ When other family members come to Mama Lena House they would always say we coming Uppa Yard. It is with these fond memories, that my aunts who inherit one or more recipe and so we created The Uppa yard, An authentic island restaurant where you can come to taste the flavors of Jamaica and the Caribbean in a fun and vibrant atmosphere.
