I moved in May 2014. During the walk through, I noticed the bedroom only had a storm window & no latch or lock. I was told that's a normal window. A few days later, maintenance said: yes, window is broken & he'd fix it. In Sep, I called but no answer & voicemail was full. 3 weeks later I called the city to file a complaint & they gave me the number to Max Brickman. He said he's the owner, not the prop manager so he doesn't handle those requests. I said I've been calling for weeks. He said the manager & maintenance quit so he'd have someone call me. In the next few months, I saw 5 maintenance guys, all of which were unaware of the problem. When a new window came in NOV, it was the wrong size but he "made it fit". All through winter, ice grew on the inside of my window & water leaked from the window. My room was freezing. I called maintenance, managers, & Max Brickman for multiple problems. I only got return calls was when I filed complaints & they were threatened with fines.

The agent showing us the duplex was very friendly. Unfortunately looking back, this friendliness of her's was covering up many problems. She had told us that many problems with the duplex would be fixed before we moved in, or shortly after. They weren't.

We had put in multiple work orders for the property and there was even a time when an animal had found its way inside and was living in the ceiling above the kitchen. It took maybe around 3 WEEKS for them to finally do something about it. And that was just to come over and tell us they were going to do something about it. Then they went and patched the hole where the animal got in through the roof, BUT THEY DIDN'T TELL US THEY WERE GOING TO. So we wake up to the lovely sound (sarcasm) of roofers banging on our roof. And behold, they busted a hole in the kitchen ceiling. AND IT'S STILL THERE!! ( It's been there for five weeks!!) ALONG WITH ANOTHER HOLE!!!

This only scratches the surface of our experience with them. And we've only been living here for 5 months. There are still so many problems with this house and they only fixed one problem. The stairs to the attic were broken, so they fixed that. But not very well because the first trip up to the attic, THE STAIRS BROKE BENEATH US!!! And then, lo and behold, they throw us to another property manager in the area with no notice of it until the new company contacted us.

So, while they *might* be a great company if you're living on the doorstep of their office, my experience says HELL NO. RUN.

Let's hope the new company is better. But I guess it wouldn't take much.
