We had no issues with the rental. We took care of the apartment and got our security deposit back minus a blind that we broke which was fair. The apartment was old, but when the hot water heater went out we called and they fixed it. No one was rude to us. I wanted to post our experience because they have gotten very poor ratings and that wasn't our experience. I think if you take care of your apartment and pay your rent on time, you won't have any issues. I will say the apartments are not super well maintained. We had an old thermostat with no clear plastic cover when my son moved in which to me is a fire hazard, but we didn't ask for a new one. The air conditioner was circa 1975. The filter was so plugged and filthy that I also found it to be a fire hazard. They offered to replace it for my son, but he didn't care. All and all an adequate first apartment experience for my son. We cosigned for him.

This is a HORRIBLE company! They are rude when you need maintenance done and will give you run arounds just to avoid coming to fix everything. During the fall when the temperate was falling field mice came into the apartments. I called to see if they can send someone out, the office YELLED at me and stated it was in the lease that we are to control any type of pests (it was not). She hung up on me and would not pick up any more of my phone calls after I told her to find a lease and fax it to me. When the heat went out they never bothered to contact anyone about the issue until the next evening!! it was -20 out!! Not only that it was by email which some of the elderly neighbors do not have. Another instance was a pipe burst, I called the emergency line since it was the weekend right before Christmas to get someone over ASAP since water was falling from the kitchen lights and sockets. They sent an ignorant maintenance personal who only took two minutes to look at the problem and diagnose a wrong issue. The next day I called the fire department since it happened again, and they said it was horrible how the company has the piping and wiring set up and I should call the building inspector. When I get a call from the maintenance man he laughed at me sarcastically when I told him what the fire department told me and made sarcastic remarks about having to fix what was wrong with the apartment. I ended up called a building inspector the next business day and guess what happened..... MY RENT WAS RAISED AND NO ONE ELSE IN MY BUILDING WAS RAISED! Then suddenly I got a notice that I had "late" rent. I paid my rent (3-6 months a head of time) in person and no one ever notified me of this. No letters, no mentions in the office, no emails just a notice after I called the building inspector. This blew the last straw and I put in a notice and they wouldn't let me out of my lease since it was not a 60 notice. HORRIBLE PLACE NEVER RENT FROM THIS RUDE BUNCH A PEOPLE!! THE ONLY NICE PERSON IS BEN SO DONT LET HIM FOOL YOU INTO AN APARTMENT!!!

Had a horrible experience renting from this company. Their property on Wayne Road in West Bend, WI was not only infested with bugs (including roaches), but run down and falling apart. When we applied for the apartment we were assured that they screened all applicants to ensure that a quite living environment would be kept. This however did not keep the neighbors from yelling at each other until 2-3am every night. After the ceiling fell in from an access hatch and the apartment was flooded with sewer water from maintenance we decided to move out early (as maintenance did not even show up that evening while we were there and the place smelled.) We moved in with family. We were assured by an employee that we would be prorated rent back for moving out early. This did not happen. I had to call the BG Lein office to inquire about my safety deposit check. They told me they did not send it to my forwarding address (which I provided twice). Then when I protested and insisted that they send a new check to me I was hung up on. The check was only for the safety deposit and not the amount we were told we would get. My wife and I are completely dissatisfied with BG Lein Management for the way they treated us and we are telling anyone who will listen. I suggest to look elsewhere before renting from this company.
