I have been visiting Alyssa's for 2 1/2 years and at first was unimpressed. Much to my delight, in recent months Alyssa's has improved its inventory. Thankfully, this coincided with a recent house purchase and a need to furnish it. In the past 2 months I have spent hundreds of dollars at Alyssa's. However, I find the staff indifferent if not unfriendly and fairly unhelpful. Alyssa herself once called me soon after a major furniture delivery to my home to inform me of a mix-up with another customer who thought she had purchased a piece of furniture that was already in my house! I found this method of doing business unprofessional and unnerving. Today I went to purchase a small buffet that I had seen 2 days ago, but to my dismay, found it in another dealer's booth marked $85 higher! When I asked one of the clerks if she thought the new dealer/owner might sell it to me for the original price, she gave an emphatic "no" and did not offer to call the dealer. I am losing my zeal for Alyssa's.

The owner of this business is ...

The owner of this business is the rudest most disrespectful business owner I have ever encountered. I have never spoken to a business owner who was as rude or obnoxious as she is. She basically told me that if "I don't like it I don't have to shop with them." I'm sorry but that is just BAD BUSINESS! If YOU and YOUR staff have misinformed a customer and it is your fault, you should do all in your power to make it right for that customer so that you can keep their business and that of their friends/acquaintances. Also, it is NEVER appropriate to question a customers pocket book, since she so nicely implied that I was "being cheap". I DO NOT recommend Alyssa's Antique Depot to any friend or family member of mine. I would rather contact the vendor directly and buy it straight from them than ever give that store one more dime. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
