These folks are nothing short of amazing. They are accommodating and compassionate for pets owners and four legged family members.

They are informative; I love how they took the time to educate me on the new influenza virus spreading into our state. I complied with their recommendation for the health and well-being of my dog.

My Beggy love William the technician and receptionist Cheryl. The best part is they allow me to schedule a morning appointment and then my pet can go to the next building for his spa day!!

I highly recommend checking out all their services.

My family and I have used Snowflake for decades. Always professional and helpful. For everything from birds to cats and dogs. Ignore the people posting negative reviews who've never actually been there and are just upset at unproven rumors by a deranged woman out for her 15 minutes of fame.

I have used Snowflake Kennel for years and have always been very happy with the way they have treated my dogs, my family. Two prior instances I’ve had to go away on business when one of my dogs has been sick. Snowflake Kennel was tremendous in taking care of my dog- giving me daily updates so I did not have to worry. This last visit I had an emergency hospital visit and Bob at Snowflake Kennel was kind enough to come and get my dogs from my home so I would not worry. They took excellent care of my dogs until I was well enough to come and get them. Thank you to all those at Snowflake Kennel we love you!

I am relocating to this area and have been reviewing area boarding/veterinary facilities, I have learned of a disturbing lack of security and a pet confirmed stolen while under this facilities care. Numerous other complaints of poor vet care and substandard services as well. Decided this facility is not one I would choose to care for my pets. Passing it along.

I was generally happy with my ...

I was generally happy with my Scotties grooming.

Relatively Clean. Relatively good and consistent grooming with no horrors. Fair rate. Reasonable hours.

Not the best clips and not always the best service. But dependable and my Scottie enjoyed his visits.

What Exactly does their fee cover?

This is the first negative review I've ever written, so I am not one of those people who are hard to satisfy.

We took our dog to Snowflake for a one night, two day stay. I hadn't had time to check the place out in person, but it was recommended by my vet and sounded great online. BIG mistake. The description of the kennel online is VERY skewed. They don't have "dog runs" they have slightly large dog cages. NOTHING is included in the price of the overnight, we're not even sure she was fed enough because as soon as we brought her home, she wolfed down her food, begged for water, and then ate the little scraps of food that had fallen loose on the floor from dishing it out. She was so hungry and thirsty we re-filled her water and food dishes and she scarfed that down too. Our dog usually eats her food slowly and gradually, so this was strange. This time, she ate so quickly she through it up a bit later.

She came back all muddy and wet and we're not sure how that happened because they barely let her out of her kennel. We paid for two walks a day, a puppy play time a day, and a Yappy hour, none of which they added which means we paid for our dog to sit in a cage for almost 48 hours. But if she sat in her cage, how did she get so muddy? I've been to other kennels in other states, and this is the first one that had no problem handing her off wet and muddy.

The people there just don't seem to like what they are doing or the dogs that come in. They're not outright rude, but they're not friendly at all nor do they treat the dogs happily. As soon as we saw the place and the people, we wanted to cancel our appointment but we didn't have time to find a new place.

DO NOT go here. It's not worth the money and they don't take good care of your dog at all. Ours is usually fairly docile, never barks, and doesn't whine. She's not particularly needy for our attention. But on the drive back, she acted very strange, whining, wanting to crawl in my lap, and whimpering constantly.

If you want a place that will love your dog to death, go to TLC in Shelton. They weren't open when we needed to board, but are now. They just moved toa brand new location and the ladies are so sweet and love dogs. If you have a social dog that likes to play, we like to go to Who's Your Doggie in Milford. It's a cage free boarding kennel and the lady who runs it, Melissa, is very sweet and GREAT with dogs. We used her a few times and our puppy came back happy and tired from playing. They even bathed and brushed her before we took her home because she got into some mud!

This place is a rip off

All Snowflake Pet Center cares about is how much money they can make off of you. They do tests on your animals that are completely UNNECESSARY! They over charge for the medication you dog receives and of course they want to run every test know to man all all all the time. The owner is a crook. I would NOT recommend this place EVER!!!!!! Also, The place always smelled like poop, and had fur balls rolling around the place. This was the only vet I had ever gone to so silly me thought they were all like this. Until my dog really had a problem and had to go to a specialist, I then realized that not all vets have to be dirty and smelly. Oh, and my dog wasn't even scared like he would be at snowflake because the people were actually nice to him.
I had to put one star on top because it is a required field but this place does not deserve a star at all.

Took my soft-coated wheaten terrier puppy in for a "trim" of his face and even gave specific instructions regarding the expectations. Miscommunication or misinterpretation happened as the result of the trim was more than just a trim. The equivalent of a toddler being told to give an adult a haircut using clippers for the first time. Perhaps even further detailed should have been given but regardless we will be looking for an alternate grooming service for our wheaten terrier.
All in all professionalism was lacking from my point of view.

Hello,

I am a Milford resident and I have been using Snowflake for several decades. I know the family personally and I 100% trust them caring for my pets. I have never once been disappointed. Go and make your own opinion. They've been around for 50 years because they have a genuine concern and passion for animals. One visit, and it's obvious.

My cats are 8 years old now, they look great..great grooming and my vet visits are always resolved. No complaints here! We are looking to get a puppy soon and we cant wait to bring him there

A shelter kitten I adopted was sent to Snowflake for an exam, vaccinations & neutering. When I picked him up the staff told me he had giardia and gave me medication, the vet wasn't in to answer questions. I left my # & asked that the vet call since I have other pets & didn't want them getting sick, in the meantime I'd keep the kitten separate. 5 days later, when I hadn't been called, I called them & asked to speak with the vet. Again, the receptionist gave follow up instructions that contradicted what they told me when I picked him up - still couldn't talk to the vet. I took the kitten to my regular vet & their testing found another parasite that Snowflake never diagnosed & my poor kitten has to start a whole new medication & be kept separate for another 2 wks - it'll be a month that this kitten has had to live alone in my bathroom!! I'm so thankful that my vet at the Animal Clinic of Milford detected this 2nd parasite & that my other 3 pets won't be sick!

DO NOT GO HERE! We took our Soft Coated wheaten terrier here while we were gone for two days. She has been to many kennels and always comes back happily tired with rave reviews on her behavior. WHen I got her from Snowflake, she was cowering in her kennel, reeked of urine, and shaking. Upon seeing me, she ran to me as fast as possible. My dog is normally very happy and social, she loves anything that moves. This behavior worried me. I asked what had occurred and the workers were very rude without giving any answers. Do not bring your dog here! To prove I am not an impossible-to-please type customer, take your dog to http://whosyourdoggiellc.com/ in Milford. Affordable, they get to run around and play in a great area, and the workers there are the BEST. We bring our dog there even when we're in town just because she loves it so much!

Thrilled to know that SPC will accommodate any needs that I have. I made an appointment for my dog and cat in the morning, while there I apologized to the doctor that my pets were filthy and needed to have baths. The technician who was also in the room suggested I bring the right over to their grooming facility right after my appointment.. Sure enough they took them right in. I picked up my pets shortly after 1:00pm. They came home smelling great and with bandanas on!!!! I love this place and my brother started using them as well.

We have been using Snowflake vet and grooming for many years. The care and compassion that they have shown our fur friends has always been excellent. Reliable, and the cost is reasonable. The vets have always explained what we were being charged and the reasoning behind it so that we never felt we were over paying for un necessary services. We highly recommend Snowflake.

This was a very good place to take my dog. They paid more attention to my dog then me. (which I loved). I moved here from Arizona and was looking for a new place to board my dog. I saw a lot of negative reviews but it was convenient to where I now live so I thought I would give it a try. What a good decision. They were very good with my dog and she was groomed when I picked her up. She smelled wonderful. I have made an appointment to meet the Vet and have my dog have a once over. I will post another review after I meet the Vet. Until then, I suggest trying this place for boarding and grooming and while your at it try out the Vet.

I am so grateful for the frien...

I am so grateful for the friend that recommended this place to us. I am a new pet owner and they made me feel very comfortable on how to care for my dog properly. They were not pushy like other vet hospitals in Milford. I am extremely happy with the service I received. I have also used there boarding and grooming. The grooming does a great job and has been grooming for a long time. My dog came home from boarding a HAPPY dog! I would recommend this place to everyone! The best part is, it is a family business so they actually care A LOT about what they do

They will shave your cat bald, don't trust them

I took my beautiful, long-haired cat to this groomer with specific instructions to give her just a hygenic shaving. Instead, the groomer shaved my ENTIRE cat!!! Please, learn from my mistake and do not take your animals there. Their groomers do not listen to instructions, nor do they utilize your cell number to reach you if they forget what you wanted done with your pet. If they did this when they only had my cat for a day, I hate to see how they care for the animals they board.
