I had him years ago for my pets, I didn't find him compassionate to animals or a people person. when i said i didnt want a hard cone for my dog, he made me wait almost 1 1/2 after my appt time to finally get my girl. never went back, went to Orange Veterinary after that

My dog was in pain from a chipped tooth and no one would see her or address the tooth, in less than 24 hours of calling I was in the office with my dad and talking over the procedure she needed to stop the pain. The staff was great and I got to see the doctor prior to the procedure and he personally called me after. Would recommend to all. My dogs are my children and I'm well educated in the veterinary field. I could not be happier with the thoroughness of the doctor and staff.

I would also like to add that I have read reviews of Dr. Deforge confronting his clients on the internet and calling them 'unbalanced' and other negative terms. Is this who you want for your vet? As a licensed mental health professional, I can assure you that Donald Deforge is NOT qualified to assess or comment on the mental health or status of any human. Him doing so is actually practicing medicine (human) without a license and is against the law.

Disclaimer: 'Lisa Taylor-Austin believes there was merit to her claims that Dr. Deforge negligently cared for her cat, Simba, and that he misrepresented whether he was a Board-certified dental specialist. Dr. Deforge denies these claims and asserts that the Department of Public Health's veterinary board cleared him of any wrong doing. However, Dr Deforge agreed to pay $7,500.00 to compensate Ms. Taylor-Austin because he believed the risks inherent in any lawsuit and the cost of missing two weeks from his practice made it imprudent to go to trial.'



This was a 4.5 year long legal process. I spent $24,000 on Simba's unneeded surgery and medical care after the negligence.

Donald DeForge at Silver Sands Veterinary Center false advertises his credentials. He states he is a vet dental specialist and he is NOT and never has been! We took our cat to him and due to his false advertising we allowed him to operate on our cat. This was the WORST decision of our lives! Our cat almost died, was held against us and we were not allowed to visit for many days. We had to call the police to get our cat. Please google his name and his business' name before you go there! You will find many bad reviews. Don't chance your pet's life! OURS CAME VERY CLOSE TO DYING. Our cat is not the same and has never been the same and neither are we. We cannot warn you enough to STAY AWAY!
