I had a very mixed experience here. I went in looking for winter boots and Matt Jr. was very friendly and helpful - miles away from the indifferent customer service you'd get at a bigger store. After I picked out a pair, he went to order them for me because my size wasn't in stock, and that's when things went downhill. Matt Senior measured me for orthotics (which I didn't think I needed) and made a very pushy sales pitch, then acted personally offended when I said I'd think about it. I left after paying the full cost of the boots and being assured that they'd arrive within a week. Fast-forward three weeks and I found out they hadn't even shipped yet. Every time I called during that time period, I got the runaround about how they didn't have any tracking information but they should be there in the next day or two. After going through four New England snowstorms without boots, I canceled the order and bought them directly from the manufacturer - they arrived five days later via standard UPS shipping, so I don't know what the holdup was. It was very disappointing to have such a long wait and such a lack of straightforward answers after an initially positive experience. I'd only recommend this store if they have what you want in stock; otherwise try out what they have in the store and order them online!

I've been going here for years and I have to say this is, hands down, the best shoe store in the state. Everyone is always so friendly and knowledgeable and they take amazing care of my kids. I got orthotics from Matt in 2009 and I've had zero knee pain since. Check it out!

The shoes I bought there were fine, but BEWARE of the promises they make for their orthotics, which are custom-made and non-returnable. At nearly $500 a pair they were a costly mistake. An osteopathic doctor told me they were the source of pain in my feet--after I'd used them for a few months. They claim to make 3 kinds, but personal experience showed that the two I tried were worse than nothing. I should never have tried them.
