I honestly do not like doing reviews but I felt I had to on this nightmare of an experience! This place is a Waste of money and time. There is no magic about the work and I wish I never even came here! I arrived for my appointment at 3 pm and I left at 3 am! an hour of that maybe was spent on her getting my hair exactly how I wanted it. To make matter worst my hair was a mess. You can feel the braids throughout my weave especially with my frontal and the length is nowhere what I asked for. Prior to my appointment, she told me my total cost would be $500 but after being in her salon for 12 hours she told me oh no it's actually $650. I spoke with Melessa the next day to express how unhappy I was with the hair and if she could redo it, she said no she would, however, fix the length with the extra hair I had for free, but I would have to drive to Delaware which was 1 hr 30 min from me. so I decline and asked for a partial refund, she said no and pretty much made it seem it was my fault she didn't do a good job with my hair. After writing my google and FaceBook review, she called me multiple times, last night and this morning, so I finally called her back this morning to see if she was going to refund my money back but instead she argued back and forth with me and called me a liar, a brat and tried to insult me about my hair being thin and my current hair loss and so forth. she will insult her client if she doesn't like their review. No client should feel the way she made me feel this morning. I will sue her if she puts any picture out of me as I did not authorize any, whether it be before or after. I stand by my review. This lady is a liar and forgets conversation she has with her clients then lies on them to make herself look good. But all I have to say is Karma will get her. She went too far and at this point, it's not even about the hair, its about professionalism and conducting herself as a business owner.

I have been a client of Melessa's for over a year getting sew in weaves. When I came to her my hair was slightly damaged from transitioning from chemicals. My A year later my hair is thick very healthy and has grown so much. Melessa's has always provided a very pleasant,knowledgeable and professional attitude. Her salon is comfortable and relaxing and I can go on about all my my wonderful experiences I have had during my visits. The quality of her sew ins are so good people think I am wearing my own hair .

do not go here! I am a Caucasian woman who has had sew ins before but nothing ever like this!! Firstly she is obviously horrible with keeping her schedule straight because a young lady walked in to get her weave installed 10 minutes into my 2 hour process. She told her it would be a half hour. The girl and her mom sat there for 2 hrs. I got 4 sewn in tracks and a few links at the top... I'm talking 4 strands that I did not ask for but she messed up my hair and didn't know what else to do. Then she charges me a whole row for them ($175).

My hair was $750 total. She didn't want me to pay with a credit card she wanted cash... Red flag. Even though her website states that she accepts cards. So I wake up the next day and am in excruciating pain. My head hurts so bad, the braids were wayyyyyy too tight. My head was bleeding and after a few hours I developed sores all over my head. I called her immediately to talk about it and she tried every which way to talk me out of getting it out. I said I wanted it out expecting to get my money back because it had only been a day. NOPE. She was 4 HOURS LATE!!!!! then I walk in and she is doing someone else's hair!!!!!!! Again with the schedule. She made me wait even longer!!! She wouldn't refund me because she said she "didn't do anything wrong" but gave me a voucher for $150 as if I would ever step foot in there again! My head was bleeding!!!!She is NOT multicultural as she states and has no idea what she is doing. Do not go here she is a con-artist and all about the money!

I came to Melessa shop in a whim in desperation and it was the best thing I did ever with my hair. She was able to take the appointment right away, there was no wait, she supplied the hair, and I was done under 2 hours!! Amazing!! Then my hair looked so good my family asked me if it was my own and they knew I was getting a weave. Definitely a professional and relaxing place to get your hair done.

I have been a client of Melessa's for almost 2 years and I have been pleased with her service each time. Melessa is very professional and takes pride in her work. You can tell that she wants her clients to look their best when they step out of her salon and even provides tips on how to maintain your style in between visits. If you visit her salon, whether in DE or MD, you will not be disappointed. Thank you, Melessa!

This was my first experience. Never have had weaving or extensions before. Meleesa was wonderful,accomodating,professional, I literally was able to call her personally on the phone and she answered my concerns and helped with the little adjustments i had with my new hair. I love it and feel more confident than i have in a long time. So natural and beautiful match to my own hair. Im so glad i found her and had my hair done here.

Ive been coming to mel for a few years now for my sew ins. My hair has always looked healthy and natural! No one has ever been able to tell. I won't let anyone touch my hair now. She has my vote always ..thank you!

I was just blessed yesterday by Melessa, she not only did a wonderful job on my hair but we had great conversation as well ,the atmosphere was so warm I felt like I with a girl friend, overall my experience was awesome and I'm telling everyone I know about her ,I've found my #1 hair rocker cuz my hair ROCKS . competitors always put reviews that say the same thing over and over and over again.as a salon owner for 27 years I do quality work in both locations this client never came in after going to my book fine tooth comb that person does not exist.you may view my website (the weave Palace.com)the work truly speaks for itself.more reviews to come from satisfied clients.god bless and make it a wonderful hair day

Gone multiple times to give her a chance, FAILS everytime. My most recent and NOW LAST TIME I came in for a weave installation. Made an appointment a week prior, was told to come in at 11, come at 10:40am. I didn't leave the salon until 6 PM! Other customers walked in2 the salon hours later than me while I still waited. Once she works on my hair @ 5, she burns me multiple times, makes my ear bleed without even telling me, and sowes in my weave so tight I have swells & scabs! Work is over priced!



At that she was on the phone the ENTIRE TIME while working on me and other customers, highly unprofessional. If I didn't have an important event days after, I would have been left! Surprisingly multiple customers were leaving!! (wish I would've followed)! She was even on the phone talking about one of her websites and to have the bad reviews deleted immediately... found that ironic!

I would like to reply to the customers review.After calling the customer back and phone texting I did not get a response I called again still no response after being upset I call the vendor and explain to him I have a client that is truly and satisfied with the texture of hair that they sent me telling me that it was 100 percent virgin remy hair and I got no call back l talk to their sales people and they said the owner would get back to me of course they did not this is unfair to me and my client I take pride in my work and I never have problems with hair my normal bender took more than 3 weeks to get my 80 bundles I know my order from them to me in a timely fashion due to the heavy demand up here ordering so I decided to try someone new just for a feelin this was a disaster and devastating to me a lesson learned I do feel really bad and compassionate for my client but again she never responded back so how can I correct what the vendor of the non quality hair sent me I am now stuck with a thousand dollar order that I just threw in the trash again in business its trial and error sometime and you live and learn

A few months ago i went in as i heard great reviews on melessa and so being i am not from the area i wanted to try it out. I ended up getting the hair from her which i normally don't do as she told me it is AUTHENTIC INDIAN REMI and i later found out this isn't true at all. The day i got it done my hair was beautiful until...the next day. I called her because my hair felt hard as if it was synthetic or something was wrong an she fried my hair. She told me to get put some conditioner in it and i would be ok. In fact it wasn't i ended up going to my local beautician and she looked at it after washing and during the setting, she noticed my hair wasn't braided or sewn in correctly. First the braids were very close together, they were thick braids not small one as everyone I've ever been to or know who does hair braids. She left parts of my hair out that was nice but it was too much left out than what should've been. As well i complained because it was itching so much it was driving me nuts! My beautician looked at me scalp and showed me in the mirror view that it was blood red. At that point in time i came home and said since now its clean i should be ok. that next week i brushed my hair after wrapping it over night and i had a huge beehive knot in the back of it! I actually popped my arm out of place trying my hardest to get it out. This was the last straw and so i called my mother to have her help me take this mess out of my head. As we took it out my hair was coming out and in parts, was sewn in to the thread (attached) I washed and deep conditioned my hair and it was needed after that beating it went through, only to find my hair was coming out in clumps!!! I will NEVER set foot in this shop, recommend anyone, or even consider having melessa touching my hair again! This was a complete horror show, that was a complete waste of my time and hard earned money!!!

I had the pleasure of visiting the weave palace and I will surely go again. Melessa was nothing short of professional. Her work exceeds the local shops as far as class, quality and tenor. She took the time to find out a little about me in order to suggest what would best suit my activity. She didn't just take my money and give me what I asked for , she took the time be sure that the service she extended was one that I'd be happy with after leaving and she was 100% correct. Her suggestions and expertise is clearly evident. Thank you and I will see you again in 3 weeks because I am sold.

She stucks. When I first called her she told me a price that I believed was fair but once I got there she changed it. She braided my hair so tight that I cancelled all my plans and called out from work. I didnt want to take it out since I spent so much money on it but it hurt so bad. Not only did she not do the things she said she was going to do but she was so ghetto when she did it. She kept stopping to talk on the phone and yelling her opinions like she was god. My hair was not blended and she didn't care. Please go somewhere else this place is terrible.

I found Melessa after doing an internet search; she was able to see me the very next day! Not only did I find a comfortable salon, but I now have a talented, experienced beautician! My weave looks so much like my own hair, my daughter started coming to Melessa. THE REAL TRIBUTE IS MY DAUGHTER IS ALSO A LICENSED BEAUTICIAN

After going to my beautician and trusting her to give me my first weave was a devastating experience. When I walked out of her salon, I was almost in tears. Not wanting to go back to her the next day when I got up and looked in the mirror, an angel spoke to me and told me to look up Melessa. When I called her around 7:30 am she was at her salon in Baltimore and afer telling her my experience with the weave I had gotten the day before she told me to come in that morning. Even though it was prom season and Mother's Day week-end, she squeezed me in. The wait was long, but I would wait all over again to get the service and symphanty she had for me. When I walked out of her salon, I felt like a new person. She made what was a total disaster, a miracle. Needless to say, I have found me a new beautician!!

I had the pleasure of stubling upon Melessa's Hair Salon 2 yrs ago via a magazine add. I'm not new to the hair weave game, so my expectations were not nieve. I can honestly say that Melessa is at the top of my stylist list. Her work is flawless. My hair never looked better. It's healthy and I'm always receiving compliments. Most people do not know that I am wearing a weave. That's the best part. For these reasons...it's worth the investment!! As they say, a women's hair is her crown and glory. So weave it up, and wear it proudly :)

Melessa is a professional weave specialist, who is passionate about promoting healthy hair. I would recommend her to anyone who is not happy with their natural hair. Melessa's hair salon is beautiful, warm and friendly staff and she is very creative. She incorporates the new era of hair designs!

I moved to Middletown about five years ago shortly before I turned 40 and right before my hair started loosing volume/body and was breaking. I’d never worn extensions before but Mele’ssa suggested that wearing a full weave would help w/growth and restore some volume. I knew it would never be like it was simply due to getting older but BOY WAS SHE RIGHT!! My hair is now half way down my back (about to my bra strap) and some volume has returned. I no longer wear a full weave because I don’t need it. Instead I wear three rows mixed in w/my own hair and I LOVE IT!! It looks totally natural due to the excellent quality of the 100% human hair she uses. I am VERY picky and Mele’ssa knows how to style my hair so it looks GREAT. I still wear a full weave in the summer (wet & wavy) because I’m at the beach and pool a lot. However, thanks to Mele’ssa’s TLC, the remainder of the year I only need three rows for extra volume and length. She is very gifted at what she does. I am VERY pleased and I’m glad she’s not far away.



Although she takes walk-ins try and make an appointment because she is in demand. See you under the dryer!

Melessa has been doing my hair for over 6 years. She keeps my hairstyles "with the times" while still keeping my look both professional and mature. Best of all she works around my crazy schedule and on short notice.
