Very rude people. Watch you like you are a criminal. Won’t budge on prices and won’t wait on you either. They seem bothered by customers. Do not recommend this place!

Upon walking in the store, the first thing you will notice are the cramped isles. The store is FULL of useless trinkets, knick-knacks, and cheap novelty items.

After making your way to the front counter, you will be assaulted by the owner, a bitter, smug, and intolerable old man. He will make every effort to find a way to insult you, your firearm, and whatever you say. This will continue until you leave, whether you buy the insanely overpriced merchandise or not, most of which is used.

Please, save yourself the trouble...go elsewhere.

I lived in Central Indiana and whenever I was in Northwest Indiana I stopped in to see their selection and normally would find the items I needed. Their staff was extremely helpful in selecting the item(s) I needed and took time to recommend options available. Their shop was well organized items separated as needed. They have a balanced knowledge base in their staff and their knowledge base creates a pleasant shopping experience.

Welcome to The Shady Rest. It takes skills to deal with this store. They must like their customer base just the way it is (cowboy) because they sure dont act like they want it to grow in any other direction.
Kempf is very knowledgable, smug about it, and I think he screens people when they come in and start asking "stupid" questions that take up his valuable time and energy. Probably cautious regarding liability, afraid someones gonna blow themselves up. If your interested in starting reloading study the subject first, approach him slowly and reverantly, he may open up. If you come in high energy, or like you carry no stink, dont waste your time here. Mr. Personality is very Old Fashion.
