Well i went to pep boys by the dayton mall to have them check my breaks for a squeak i had been hearing in the front, i was told my front breaks and rotors were fine but the rear were shot and needed replaced as soon as possible, they wanted somewhere around 450$ to do it so i held off and got a second oppion from another mechanic and was shown that my breaks and rotors were like new and didnt need replaced for a long time not sure if this covid stuff and them being slow has them trying to get over on people but they wont get my buisness anymore no matter what the case wrong is wrong disgust me to think of how many people would have just handed over the money and got something fixed that wasnt even broke in the first place.

Quoted one price over the phone, immediately tried to double the cost for service once I arrived. AVOID THESE GUYS AT ALL COST.

Went here for an oil change a few months ago. Got my car back, and blue smoke came barreling out like mad once I hit 40 mph. Turned around immediately and brought it back. They said their tech didn't let it smoke out enough. Tried to drive it around a bit more, went up a hill and black smoke started pouring out the muffler. Check engine light came on.

Tech wasn't paying attention as he was pouring the oil in, and got it all in my spark plug area, and all over the engine itself. Pep Boys wanted over $200 to fix the plugs even though it was their fault. Went to Auto Zone and had my dad fix it for me. $20 bucks is way better than $200.

Also...one of the guys up front (cashier? idk what he actually does) kept trying to flirt with me even though he said he was getting married and had 3 kids. Kept telling him I had a boyfriend, and he just kept flirting away. Disgusting. I am never going here again, EVER.

I'd give zero stars if I could.

This is the second time I have done service with pepboys. The first time was to get my heater fixed in my car.. Midas quoted me $800 to fix this so I wanted a second opinion. Pepboys charged me $35 to check my car, plugged a hose that was loose and the problem was solved. Cost me $35, not $800. Today, I went to Pepboys for a second opinion again. Monro tire quoted me $1800 to fix my rack and pinion. Pepboys informed me that wasn't the problem, but I actually had a belt broken in a tire and needed a new tire. I spent $136 on a new tire and the problem was solved. Will never go anywhere else again but Pepboys. Honest and quick service. Nothing can beat it.

Horrible experience. I took the vehicle in for an oil change and tire rotation. When I left, there was loud rattle under the vehicle. I went back and they noticed muffler pipe was cracked. They said one of their workers may have hit it when raising the vehicle.



They REFUSED to take responsibility and adamantly repeated the muffler was rusted and it would have fallen off anyhow.



I never had any problems with the muffler before and their arrogant attitude was shameful. I will never go back to the Dayton Mall Pep Boys on Springboro Pike and I highly recommend you stay away too.



I was warned that they do shoddy work and I did not listen. Shame on me, I guess.
