Dr. Nicolas A. Yannuzzi is vitreoretinal surgeon at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute where he completed his residency in ophthalmology and fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery and served as a chief resident and the co-director of ocular trauma. Dr. Yannuzzi received his B.A. from Harvard College where he graduated cum laude with high honors in biochemical sciences. Subsequently, he spent a dedicated research year at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center examining novel treatments for glioblastoma, the most fatal form of brain cancer. Dr. Yannuzzi received his medical degree at Weill Cornell Medical College where he won the Edward Norton prize in ophthalmology and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honors society. He then returned to Sloan-Kettering where he completed his transitional internship and conducted research in pediatric eye cancer. He is a lead or co-author in over 75 peer reviewed manuscripts in ophthalmology and retinal disease and has delivered over 30 presentations at national meetings. He is also the recipient of the Heed and Michels' Fellowship Awards.
